Hello, not sure where to post this, move if not right.

I’ve just bought the Qudelix 5K because of the integrated EQ, which means I’m able to have EQ applied to all of my main phone apps.

Sat down to make my own 2.5mm to dual 3-pin XLR, but since the 2.5mm doesn’t have any ground. What will happen if I use this cable on my Burson soloist AMP?

The Burson is not grounded at the power outlet, also the qudelix is not grounded when charging. Would there be any build up of charge in this system? Should I get one of those Ground Sylinders, and connect that to the ground from the XLR connector?

Such a cable will present grounding issues. Need to add 3.5mm for grounding to DAC end. Looks like this:

Where to you put the 3.5mm?

Put 3.5mm into Qudelix, it acts as grounding point. 2.5mm is used for sound.

Ok, so both 3.5mm and 2.5mm into qudelix? Would the qudelix send music trough the 2.5mm?

Is it ok to just connect the ground on the 3.5mm to the XLR ground? (Leave L and R open)

Yes, connect both to Qudelix. Yes, 2.5mm is used for balanced sound output (music, gaming, movies, etc).

Unfortunatelly I don't have a visual pinout. Another head-fi member said: "the ground sleeve of the 3.5mm is connected to the ground of the 3pin xlr jacks".

Here are some links for the type of cable you need, maybe if you message them they'll give you pinout configuration.

Ok thank you! Could you check if the 3.5mm work for music output on your cable?

No, I'm afraid to send single-ended signal to my amp's balanced input.

I see, it should be ok, sending balanced signal -> single ended is dangerous. But single ended -> balanced is considered safe if the amp is properly designed

I won't be trying that but I hope you get this sorted out. There are many much more knowledgeable members on this forum than me.

It’s ok, I will find out when it arrives :) Thanks for sharing your knowledge bro. Do you think the qudelix drives your amp good?

No worries man.

I have mostly used this cable to connect A&K SR25 and Cowon PLR2 daps to Liquid Platinum amp. They have the same 2.5mm/3.5mm configuration as Qudelix.

I used Qudelix instead of DAP in this chain a few times. It's not a pernament solution as BT doesn't play well with tubes (get some noise interference). Otherwise Qudelix has enough output power at 4Vrms balanced to feed most amps. You will be double-amping as 5K doesn't have line-out mode but the output is pretty clean and doesn't distrort early.

Can someone please share the scheme how I could properly solder 4 pin female xlrs to the balanced cable? I have 2,5 trrs to 2 3,5 trs jacks (been using this with edition XS) and would like to make the cable for lcd-x from it

The mini 4 pin xlr on my ZMF’s use the 1 for positive and 3 for negative for both sides.
