Hey audiophiles! I'm now planning to get 2.1 speakers setup for my pc.
I'm living in Singapore and it seems like the price here is very different from usa.
Thus, I most likely will not buy it online due to heavy shipping cost.

This is my local price list:

Logitech z623 $199
Edifier C3 $179
Creative T3 $229
Creative T30 $169
Swan m10 $119
Swan m20w $249
Swan m50w $309 to $339
Altec Lansing`s 200w MX6021 $199
Klipsch promedia 2.1 $300
HK soundsticks iii $300

I'll be able to get creative speakers cheaper as it's a Singapore brand.
However, it isn't popular here and I'm not sure which ones has better in value.

I need a decent sub as I wan it to be bassy enough to enjoy my movies

How about an alternative suggestion? You should be able to find a t-amp in Singapore. These are small digital amps made for running passive speakers. Then that opens up more possibilities for you as an alternative to the computer multimedia speakers you are looking at. :)

i am in the exact same situation as you are right now. looking for a 2.0/2.1 setup, though i have a lower budget than you and have them narrowed down to:

logitech z313 $50 from courts or something
logitech z523 $90ish free shipping (http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/251671687557?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649)
swan m10 $119
creative t40 $129

Creative has really good deals during the various it shows and am really leaning towards the t40 due to the design - the fact that it is a 2.0 setup also means less wires, and my personal preference for smooth mid tones and treble over thumping sub bass.

I should add that while the z523 seems like a really good deal anything can happen along the way to sg, and by the time it reaches you broken there wont be a warranty to back you up.

Swan m10 has got really rave reviews but i find it kinda ugly and there are build quality issues, it being a china brand.

z313's price is just so appealing for a starter setup...
