I did a search about the SR-3 on head-fi and found almost nothing, and, even simply stax didn't have the SR-3 listed on their "discontinued products" page. (I found a chinese site saying that these were the cans released to replace the SR-1s, in 1968 
) Would anyone mind to contribute a little info about these rare cans, like what it sounds like?
Edit: Oh yeah, forgot to mention that these cans are on ebay now. =P
