1704 back in stock - anything superior to Audio-gd 7.1 for 2K?

Currently using an ESS-based dac, which I like a lot, but upgraditis and some spare cash have struck simultaneously.  Has anyone moved on from the 7.1 to something else?  Appreciate your input before I take the plunge.
 
Would be using the setup with HE6 and an F5 clone.
