Evening All,

Quick question, I'm in the market for a music only player; 16gb would suffice & I'm considering either a NWZ-A865 or the NWZ-S765, has anyone had experience of either?

The S series has a stated battery life of 50 hours, where as the A series is around 20 hours, that's big difference; however I'm more interested in the SQ & build difference between the two.

Any thoughts?

I own the S750 and A865 and planning to get the S760 soon. The A865 features a bigger sound with wider soundstage, more bass and more detail. The S is still good however.

Sorry, should have revisited this thread a view days after the initial posting - I walked into my local Sony Centre Store, haggled over the price & purchased a A865.

What do you think of it? I read one thread that described the bass as non-existent, which I find hard to believe.

Just found this regarding freq response. Certainly looks to me like bass is present.
