Hi,
has anyone played around with the cardbus card that comes as part of the 1616 packages. If I interpret the specs on the emu web site correctly you can use it standalone in a laptop and it shows some interesting specs.
Headphone Amplifier
Type: linear power amplifier
D/A converter: AK4396 (card)
Gain Range: 85dB
Maximum Output Power: 20mW
Output impedance: 22ohms
Frequency Response (20Hz-20kHz): +0.0/-0.07dB
Dynamic Range (A-weighted): 115dB
Signal-to-Noise Ratio (A-weighted): 115dB
THD+N (1kHz, max gain): 600ohm load: -96dB
Stereo Crosstalk (1kHz at -1dBFS, 600 ohm load): < -100dB
The output power is limited but these spec look like a strong competitor for the Indigo cards.
Could some who has this card pelase post some RMAA measurements.
Cheers
Thomas
