I found a seller online that is selling 160 Samsung harddrives for the iPod. I asked if they fit the 5.5, and he replied 'yes'. But I'm not sure if it meant it'll fit & will connect/work with the 5.5.

What do you guys think?

There is another thread where I think Vinnie already said non-Toshiba drives aren't going to really work.

when i spoke to him a few weeks ago, vinnie said that the 100GB (MK1011GAH) was the current limit for a 5.5G

The 120GB will work.

yes, that drive is part reason why i enquired with him, hmmm.... i wonder if putting it in an imod is slightly different in terms of his custom work in there???

120 is a nice size too.

i think i will ask him again and save up for that if its a goer.
