16 bit vs 24 bit? | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

I am looking at the Fubar II usb and the Prodigy HD2 soundcard. The Fubar specs are 16-bit 44.1Khz/48KHz sampling rates and the Prodigy specs are 24 bit / 192kHz. What is the difference?
