I'm trying to find some cans that will just be amazing for rock. i was looking at the grados and alessandros, but what version would besst suit the price range. I might be able to stretch the budget a bit too.

personally im not much for the Grado sound
the Ms1s are more to my liking, but still not my cup o tea
personally i would suggest A900s used if you can find them, and them with a few mods.

but the 225s are really agressive, so they add some intensity

SR-225 is the perfect headphone for rock. HD595 isn't bad either.
