First, is it worth buying an amp for the ATH-A700s?

Secondly, what are some amps in this price range? I've been looking at the iBasso D2+ Boa, what your thoughts on it?

From your sig I assume you don't have the A700 yet? If that's true, I'd wait and see how you like the sound unamped. If you feel it could be improved, there are plenty of good choices in your price range. If you try some amp out and end up not being impressed, you can usually flip it on the for sale forums here for a small loss. For example: Vivid Technologies V1 is a great amp at $99 shipped. But if you try it and it is too forward for you (or whatever the problem is) I'm betting you could quickly and easily get $75 or $80 for it on this forum. And shipping is cheap on these small items. The same goes for iBasso or any other lower priced amp. It just ends up costing a few $$$ to try until you find your perfect match.

Good luck.

Indeed, T3D looks very promising. I think this is the solution for this choice problem.
