I currently own a pair of Grado SR-80. I listen to music a lot and often during 1-2hr. I love the sound of my Grado, but after a while they hurt a little and the sound seems a bit harsh after 2hr on them.

I would like something circumaural that is confortable. Open or closed, I don't really care. I would spend more the 150$ if it is worth it. I mainly listen to some Depeche Mode, Scorpions, Supertramp and other stuff arround those lines.

I currently own an Asus Xonar DX sound card and a Bravo Audio Amp (similar to this one : Valve Class A Hybrid Tube Headphone Amplifier Indeed - eBay (item 250550267633 end time Dec-24-09 10:35:54 PST))

I was also looking at some usedbeyer dt990 300ohm HD600, but I am not sure if my amp can handle them.
Some Senn HD600 would be awesome too, but I am not sure if they are really worth it.

Check out the Shure SRH840... right about the $150 mark in a few places.

I also have the Sr 80 and about a month ago bought the Denon D2000 and I cant tell you how much I am enjoying them.
I got them at Amazon for 214 shipped. I cant stop listening to them and feel I will be satisfied with these for years to come.
I know they are over your budget but try stretch it if you can.
Best purchase I have made in years as far as enjoyment and satisfaction.

Amazon also is selleing the Demon d2000 for 200.00 shipped Shure 840 145.00 shipped. I have the 840 great cans havent heard the 3000 but are liked here. I have the Denon 1001 under 100.00 great cans
