Good bass = a lot of bass (fun bass), or very accurate bass?

Bass wise:
E2C has most bass
E3C has moderate bass
ER-6i has least bass

Clarity wise:
ER-6i most clear
E3C moderate detail
E2C most muffled

If you want bass AND clarity, you have to move up to something like the E4C. And even then you don't get a nice full bass like you get on something like SR-60's or PX-100's.

Personally, I prefer the PX-100's to something like the E2C for normal listening.

i LOVE my grado's for portable use SPECFICALLY because they leak so much sound. the backround "noise leakage" cleans the sound of the headphones. (imho) ie you dont hear tinny itsy bitsy pops and hiss when it is overshadowed by the roar oif a nearby buss, the noise of the bov on a saab-900-terbo, or the steady woosh of a good gust of wind.

the outside noise "brings everything together." (again, mho)
