Hello everyone,I just found a 1100mah rechargeable 9v battery that made by Utralife Batteries. But I'm afraid of buying it because the common batteries that made by PowerEX is only 230mah/300mah. Would anyone tell me that if I use a 1100mah rechargeable battery, will it break my SR71A? Thank you very much

For more infomation, just search Ultralife 9V Lithium Battery, and you can find lots of information. Another question? Why a larger capacity battery is cheaper than the smaller one. Is it safe?

I think the 1,100 mah would be fine. If I understand correctly, the mah rating is more like how long the cell will last, or output acceptable voltage for the device. I use iPowerUS 500 mah Li-Polymer in my SR-71A.

Thank you, does 500mah work well? The really thing I'm considering is that the rate might affects electric current........coz you know, elements in the amp are always burnt out

I mean if I can really use the 1200mah batteries, one of the main problems of SR71A( which is short battery life and does not have power supply) can be solved perfectly. But I just not sure about that.

The 500 mah last "a long time", sorry but I've never clocked it. I also use a pair of lower mah Ni-MH and cycle them.

You should consider sending Ray an email to get a reliable answer.

If the voltage is right it doesn't matter the mA. That is the amperes that it holds in the charge and the amp will only draw what it needs. You could have a batter with 4000mA, as long as it is in the recommended voltage range, which is 8.4 to 9.6 volts.

and where are folks buying the 500 mah Lithium Polymer rechargeables now??  I know several years ago Romanee on these boards siad the LiPo from Thomas Distributing had some major flaws, as did the set I bought from them.  So wondering now where people are buying them?  Thomas?  Trew??  Would love a set for my Portaphile

don't know their size but the LiPo offered by Thomas and now trew were small enought to fit the Portaphile; some, like the Ultralife non-rechargeable, were too large unless you bought the Ultralife in the plastic case.  The aluminum case just wouldn't fit into the Portaphile

But I may wander off-thread talking about all this

Sorry about the mistake, I double-checked and found that 1100mah batteries were non-rechargeable. I think I 'll buy a 500mah instead.
