Wondering if there is a valid comparison between the x10 and the xba-04

OK I thought I was through with BA based IEM's but a pair of Etymotic HF3 has changed my opinion after not being as enamored bu the TF10 or the SM3. So with that in mind would one of these IEM's give me a similar but better experience than the HF3? The things I like about the HF3 are the mids and treble, I love their detail and clarity. I would like more bass though and I definitely DO NOT WANT a recessed midrange. In short I want the Ety's with more bass at the least and prefereably the Ety with more bass and everything else.
Also how would these compare to the MDR-7550 or EX600? I ask because I can get the MDR-7550 for $240 locally, or is there no real comparison between that series of Sony IEM's and these new BA based ones?
dweaver have you ever thought of looking into a ZO2? JamesMcProgger did and he seems to love the ZO2 with his HF2'S.

I can confirm this. The Zo (V1 in my case) does wonders for the HF2.

Do any xba 4 owners have DDM, EX700, SM3, or 1964-Q to compare it with?
I have great experiences with the first two and assume from reviews on headfi that the last 2 are a step up.
I am hoping to buy the xba 4 on my Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand trip, if one of the countries has it!
Thanks!
The XBA-4s are not out in Singapore yet though...

I will look into the ZO then as I think the mids and treble on the HF3 are pretty much perfect.

Well I start my Asia trip on the 19th January. So I'm hoping it'll be available in one of the countries by then!

I'm waiting for the "ip" version. Anyone know when it will hit the streets?

Good luck for you! I'm actually put down to getting these due to the weird looking cable.

Production was likely delayed by flooding in Thailand... I know Sony makes some headphone models there. But I'm just speculating...

Bought the XBA-S65 on Amazon.co.jp for about 6,200 JPY with free shipping while I was staying with a friend in Tokyo. Got delivered in 2 days and they're great sounding, with splash resistance and secure wearing style to boot.

Just received the XBA-4 and in the first few minutes the XBA-4 sounds inferior compared to the TF10! I wonder if I got a fake pair, I did buy if from ebay but I did buy from a high rating seller with no so cheap price tag! There is something about instrument placement which bothers me with this IEM. I think sony messed up with their BA positioning inside the earphone closure. O well nothing much I can do now.
Edit: Just hooked up to an amp and it sounds much better. Strange I thought the 8 ohm meant they dont need an amp!

They need a low output impedance or else the frequency response will get messed up. Some players (Clip+, iPhone 3G and 4G) nail it but many don't do so well.
