Is having a 10 foot USB cable to my DAC gonna hurt my sound quality?. Reason being is my DAC HAS to be 10 feet away

oh wait usb 1.1 or 2.0? 1.1 is limited to 9.8 feet with 5 repeaters, 2.0 is 15 feet.

I dont think it will hurt it with 1.1 tho - just like ethernet can go further than 100m, just need to test it and make sure its not blowing errors...

Well I dont want to get into the cable debate here but if you believe in the cable thing then its below what you can spend on cables - if you think good cable is good - then everything they make is that basic good that cables should be - I have tons of their cables and order from them as well as pretty much anyone that asks me what to get...never had an issue. By all means drop $500 on a usb cable if you want, but I dont think its necessary.

USB cable can get interfered by other cables like powr cord easily so ideally your USB should have some shielding and avoid over lapping power cords etc.
