This is an awesome deal. I paid about 200 for mine a few months ago. I don't regret it one bit. Sounds fantastic. It comes with an ungodly amount of audio recording software for recording guitar, etc. I haven't even installed any of it yet. But its something to think about, as it would cost extra if bought individually. Don't compare this dac to 150 dollar dacs, compare it to 3-400 dollar dacs.

I imagine you could get it cheaper after rebate if you can get them to go down on the initial price. I paid $180 for mine like a week ago. Its pretty easy to get people at guitar center to give you a little discount. I remember when the 1212m came out, I got that thing for like $170. If you make a subtle inquiry into any future sales thats probably all it would take. That, or you could just say your friend got it from guitar center for $180 a couple weeks ago.

i pricematched it to musiciansfriend before and got it for $165 shipped a couple months ago... which should be around the same price as $200+tax-$50 rebate... but without the hassle of a rebate. just a heads up
