Yes, the thinner one fits in the big one. But not vice versa, unless you use force it in.

I thought the .78 referred to the spacing of the two pins. So either way you'll end up stretching your socket inward or outward.

Is it spacing between or diameter of each pin?

Is it possible to use a 0.75 cable in a iem that uses a 0.78 socket?
Does anyone have experience in this?


@Montblanc,

As a general rule no, as you will be putting excess pressure on the .75 pins so while it may work initially, eg output sound, you're more than likely damaging the connections, not to mention creating a potential short, don't forget, audio signals are electricity...

Saying that, just stick with .78 which is the standard width for 2 pin connectors.
The .03 mm difference is just likely a half cent labour cost used by Chinese manufacturers to create more inconsistency in socket design & flood the market in cheap cables.
