Superb details especially since it has excellent layering and sound separation.

Nice! Is this better than Yanyin Aladdin or Canon?
Dsnuts
They would be a fail if these weren't. These cost double the Canon and almost triple the Aladdin. The refinements are completely worth it however.

Read every word and contemplated every conceivable concept described above. Wow! What a review! Don’t think I have read anything like it...............ever? I learned so much, thank-you.
Oh......and I want a pair!

Ya they are marvelous. Too good. A true flagship level hybrid.

Great review! These honestly sound like my end-game iems. I've been wanting tribrids with ESTs, but the price is way too high, and very important to me, the shells are very large. The Moonlight appears to be considerably smaller than many TOTL tribrid shells, is that correct? This is a must for smaller ears, so I've never really had a true option for proper fitment. Can you give me more comparisons size-wise? In relation to LZ A7 perhaps? I know many also like metal iems, but metal conducts heat (so gets hot or cold) and tends to make my ear itchy due to allergies, so epoxy/resin, while also lighter, is superior for comfort in my opinion... Any more insights are appreciated, and thanks again for this review!

Thanks for recommending these. Might be the closest to perfection in tuning I’ve heard to date. Balancing is immaculate.

Do you recommend the Penon Volt or the Yanyin Moonlight for a library that is based mostly on J-pop which consists of mostly female vocals. One fine example of J-pop is, Yoru Ni Kakeru - Yoasobi. If it's not too much of a hassle for you, could you do an a/b test using that song and tell me your thoughts on it? Otherwise, just sharing your thoughts on how these iems perform on busy tracks would be a great help to me too.

@xlayned Sorry I havent gotten back to you. To answer your question, for female vocals and Jpop I would go with the moonlights as the volts are more better at male vocals due to its warm and thicker sound profile vs the Moonlights. They are both excellent at vocals in general but due to the even handed balancing of the moonlights with more lower treble emphasis vs the volts, go for the moonlights. They will suit your tastes better. Love them for female vocals in general.

@gmdb I appreciate that you apprecite that. I am a staunch firm believer in burn in. Nothing chaps my hide more than seeing reviews for IEMs and folks just open a box and start revieweing them. That is funny to me. IF I was to judge an IEM based on open box experiences, more than half the IEMS I review would get a big fat zero for sound quality. I have way too many IEMs that shows me a clear advantage of burn in to not believe in it.

What a great Review. Thanks for that

Great review...Just got mine today...they need burn in....but this line got my attentuion:...A high output impedance source like a powerful desktop amp will actually be a negative and will skew the overall sound of all Yanyin IEMs including the Moonlight. So my Jotunheim amp has .1 ohm output impedance....I am assumiing this is ok? I mean .1 ohm is pretty low....

Should be ok to use but make sure if it has low gain use it on low gain. It does not need much power for full sound. I would try them on every source you got. You will be able to tell which ones jive with the Moonlight.
