I was eyeing this amp for a while, but I'm using Mk2 240s, do you think this amp is a good pairing? I know the MK2s are not as nice as the Q701s but people have said they're similar with the Q701s slightly better at everything haha.

Totally agree with everything except one part.... that the vali isn't neutral. To me it's dead neutral, but strangely only to my ears with the Q701.
If you take the Ifi iCan, Headroom Micro Amp and Schiit Vali, they all sound 95% identical with the Q701 to my ears. This is with normal people's DACs under $350.
 
Yeah the vali has a hint of warmth, but to me it's not a warm sounding amp. It's kind of similar to the amount of warmth in say an E17. Good lucking actually hearing it..
 
More people should try the Vali with the Q701 if they only have one headphone.
 
BTW if there is another Schiit amp that sounds almost identical as the Vali with the Q701..let me know. I'd like to hear it..
 
FYI I found the Asgard 1/2 much warmer than the Vali, but YRMMFV
