Orb has sound more organic and has more body for lower mids / male vocals sound fuller as a result. Both do bass excellent but the QT9 has a bit more emphasis and extension for bass. More sub bass rumble and sounds more like a woofer bass. Orbs have great sub bass as well but is not as emphasized there. The biggest difference is the treble region where the QT9 has much more treble energy and extended treble. Orbs are more mids to bass focused vs the extension the QT-9 Mk2 in both ends with a bit lesser in the mids especially lower mids emphasis. Overall the QT-9 is more a fun sound signature vs the Orbs is more of an organic mids specialist. Orbs has an amazing full bodied rich sound signature with the right tips and cables but the QT-9 Mk2 is addictive for its authoritative bass and excellent treble extension even with the stock cables and tips.
Quack!! Moondrop DUCK? Ha ha it's Dusk. And it's a super clear phone with improved bass shelf
And less treble glare. Wonderful for tame music but not dynamic Enough for EDM or rousty rock
Still like my 3DT best for everything
@Dsnuts, I understand you. My wife thinks the same as yours, I would even say worse.... Maybe one day I'll open the drawer and there won't be any headphones....
hi, just want to know, how it is compared to Mangird Tea, their price are around the same, and I am looking an iem that provide resolving sound signature, which of them are perform better?
Never heard the Tea. Don't know too many that has this earphone and the tea you can certainly ask on the discovery thread. The QT-9 Mk2 is a bit under the radar so not too many own them or heard them. I would go off of review descriptions and see if either one suits your kind of sound and go from there.
It is essentially a cheaper LAND. Similar sound balancing but it has good stage and imaging with a nice bass end like the LAND. Of course it is not quite as refined as the LAND but it is one of the most comfortable earphones at it is much smaller than the LAND.
Is there any chance you could give a small comparison with the ISN EST50? I am torn between which to buy! I'm an a true Basshead but also love my technicalities. ISN EST50 is double the price and i would love to know if it is twice as good before i lay down £350! Thanx in advance for any help i appreciate it very much
i got my qt9mk2 4 weeks ago, it really suit my taste and it does what exactly as per described from your review but, I found one con, the sound isolation is just so-so, any recommended eartips that providing good seal and noise isolation? Thank you
Same problem here with isolation. What helped me (just a bit) was using rubber o-rings on the stems before putting spiral dots on them. Fit gets a bit deeper and larger spiral dots fill ear a bit better. That made it passable for me, but they still doesn't isolate very well. Like you said, that's the only con with them
