Omni is wonderfully balanced. These look very, uh, unbalanced.

Hey Beagle, I'm sharing my opinion having heard both. I said it's similar tuning, not similar fidelity. If you look at the graphs on both you'll see the Omni is actually more sloped than the HD50. The Omni is one of the favorite headphones I've ever heard, resolution, detail, separation and things of that nature are superior on the Omni, but overall tuning is somewhat similar to my ears, with the HD50 having more of a bass boost.

I meant tilted, not sloped.

So you are saying it is a lower resolution, less refined (and less expensive) version of the Omni sound signature?
 
Oh, question....is the cable socket on the right ear piece? Looks that way in the first pic. I hate when manufacturers do this. Keep it consistent, on the left side please.

@nordkapp- you check your mobile phone?  Pretty sure that's made in China too.  Toxins are not a Chinese specialty.  In fact some of that tech came from the states/developed countries.  You see that article on a lawyer's fight against DuPont?  Makes you think twice before using a non stick pot.
