INTRO:-
Yup, I am back. This time around I have the Meelectronics M7P. This is an interesting piece of earphone. To be precise I had not seen one like this before. This one belongs to MEE audios Sport-Fi range of sports earphones.  With an universal mic and remote, volume controller, innovative memory wire for a hassle free fitting and with its water resistant Liquipel Watersafe nano coating technology M7P really stands out of the competition. Ohh and I forgot about its adjustable pivoting nozzle. M7P has no features missing to be precise.

It’s the first time I am reviewing an earphone totally targeted towards the gym goer  community. I have reviewed one for sports use (XF-200) but this one with its removable cable and water resistance stands as a near perfect gym companion. Priced just 3000 INR or $39.99 its not much expensive, keeping in mind the features it offers. It comes in Blue, Red, Neon Green and Grey, pick the one that suits you the best.

You can grab one for yourself from these links.

I don’t see much competition from other earphones here, there are no other renowned that offers these features, Sennheiser has its lineup for gym goers but they are much more expensive doesn’t have detachable cable and can be uncomfortable with their wings and long uncomfortable earpieces.

Now if you consider it for its SQ only then there are plenty earphones to give it a hard time!! We will look into this case. I have VSD2S, Mi hybrid and Brainwavz XF-200 to compare with M7P.

P.s.:- Really sorry for this delay and thank you Mike for this review unit. Sorry again, I am a mess..

WHATS IN THE BOX and Miscellaneous:-
M7P comes in a really nice box with a flip style front, opening which shows the earphone stuffed into its plastic container through a window. There is a round shaped carry case, 4 pairs of eartips with a pair of bi flange, there is a cable clip too, now MEE could have included a pair of triple flange and the carry case could have been slightly bigger but it's okay.

It is intended for sports use as the box reads "Sports IN-EAR Headphone" and "Engineered for Runners and Gym-goers". There is IPX5 water resistance too which is a protection from "Jets of water sprayed from a distance of 9.84 ft. (3m) from all directions at a rate of 12.5 l/min. at a pressure of 30 kPa for 3 minutes." Now that is nothing less than washing in running water.

One of many  good things about M7P is its flexible ear hook, they are not annoying like IM-70 or irritating like the one shipping with VSD2S. It just fits snugly doesn’t move much and is comfortable. Ergonomically M7P is really comfortable. Another advantage is that you can adjust its nozzle to your liking or you can say that it adjusts itself once you put it inside your ear.

M7P is made of plastic, nothing fancy, it doesn’t really need a stress reliever as you can pull it out with its cable guides. If by any chance you are worried about the cable, don’t worry mate, its detachable.

The cable itself is slightly on the thinner side but not much weak, its not the bouncy type too (use the cable clip anyway) and measures 130cms which is long enough for anyone. The jack has a 90 degree angle which I prefer.  No need to worry about L/R as it won't fit in the wrong ear.

Microphonics is not a thing to worry about at all and isolation is  acceptable too.

Remote and MIC:-
M7p has a single button remote with a universal or say independent volume slider placed on the Y splitter. It operates like any other one button remote, same functions too. The single button picks calls, ends calls, plays and stops music when not in call, skips ahead with a double tap and goes back with 3 clicks.

Mic clarity is mediocre at best, still gets its job done.

Sound Quality:-
Now I have to say that M7p is not a natural sounding earphone, It has its problem with timber and instrument precision. Its not that it lacks clarity or beats are missing but its not how things should sound like.
M7p is not a bassy earphone, its balanced, sounds dark to me. Over all it sounds like there is something stopping it from sounding at its best. May be it’s the water proofing.
Before we get into the usual, M7p has been burned for more than 70hrs and I am using stock single flange tips for this review. Amping helps in controlling the bass a bit more but M7p sounds more or less the same when driven from a mobile phone, and why will someone carry an amp an extra load while running?

General sound assessment:-
Even when M7p is not a bassy earphone it can pump really good amount of air but the impact is not exactly as big as XF200 which is a bass head grade earphone. As I said it is a nicely balanced sounding earphone, bass doesn’t cross it limits or go hostile, just drops the beat and leaves, decay is above average, its not the fastest out there, not comparable to Jive for sure but does good.

Thankfully there isn't a bothering mid bass hump to worry about and it do reach deep, as deep as 25hz.

Now the approach is more soft than hard, doesn’t stress much on the ears, it hits but not like a HA-FX40, which just hits like it’s the last day on earth with bolted mid bass. M7p doesn't have the body like a IM-70 but its not bad.

Thank fully bass is not much affected by its anemic note presentation. Clarity and details are good here, and feels more natural than rest of the spectrum. Being a balanced earphone it doesn’t bleed into the mids.

This is the type of bass I like. Not over powered, nor less emphasized.

Mid range and highs are a totally different story. Details doesn’t hold their value when they do not fill in their own space. Its just the tonality that puts things off. Vocals and instruments and everything just sounds off place. Artificial and unnatural, lacking their texture and required precision. Its just loses its appeal when male vocal of Chris martin and Wale lose their robustness.

There are details never the less, no notes and tunes are missed, everything is there, some minutes details too are present. Notes are over done and overly sharp lacking their needed amount of body.

Female vocals sound okay never the less but its those really unnatural instruments that doesn’t let the whole experience reach a level of satisfaction.

Its like a sword with pores in it, you just are not supposed to take it for a fight.

Layering, placement everything is good, sound stage is really nice too. Sound stage is nicely spacious with good depth and height, width is slightly lacking but its okay. Top end extension is there too, everything is awesome, just the tonality and timber is off.

Highs are really nice though, doesn’t tend to bite or even bother but the sharpness can be a bit bothering for those who like nicely rounded note presentation.

M7p is not a bad sounding earphone it just misses on a single, simple but important thing.

 Conclusion:-
M7P has really nice functionality, its water resistant, one of the best for gym goers and joggers, if you are worried about the wire just clip it inside your t-shirt, it goes over ear, has Mic and an independent volume controller too but bows out when it comes down to sound quality, it just doesn’t hold itself together and somewhat fails to deliver a natural timber.
Everything else is okay, its just that if you leave bass out, vocals and instruments they all sound unnatural.
Will I recommend it to anyone? Nope, unless you want this pivoting nozzle or this is the only water resistant earphone you can buy, I will advice you to get the Alfa and delta D2.
