Yeah, Tatco has done a really really good job tuning them, and also when it's about overall quality, this is one of the nicest sounding single-dynamic IEMs ever made.
Just two things for your information, as you were slightly wrong about those in the video: the bass knob is actually a variable resistance and no mechanic vent control (hence not similar to something like the IE 80 has, but more like what's done inside of the Angie), that's why the bass quality is still pretty good even when turned all the way up, without spilling into the mids too much.
And the nozzles are removable because there are shorter, differently shaped ones to fit custom-moulded eartips available (hence "LHF", "Lear Hybrid Fit" in contrast to their "UF" Universal Fit and "CF" Custom Fit models.
(Also as info for you, @hqssui, those other nozzles are for their custom eartips and not mainly for a different sound sig, as the silicone tips don't even tightly fit on those shorter nozzles. What the LEAR site just says is that the positioning and insertion depth of the universal nozzles vs. the custom moulded oney might sound different.)
@hqssui Thanks! I actually try to go the other way with reviews. A lot of folks learn and provide a bunch of info (that angle is covered) so I just listen and give my thoughts. I saw the nozzle thing after the review but thanks for pointing it out
@RedJohn456 Thanks. I would pick the ex800st because the bass and stage are top of the food chain for me. The LEAR seem to be a set of AD01 on steroids. Smooth sound with stout sub bass and a good bass to mid transition. Read the previous reviews and thought folks might be fanboying and I went ahead and fanboyed
