I'm looking for an amp for easy to drive headphones ( 58X, Nighthawks...) Would this work well, or there is no need for that much power?
If no, which one would you recommend? Thanks
Hey, I'm using SMSL Sanskrit 10th MK II and looking for an adequate desktop AMP for mostly IEMs. At the moment I'm using the SMSL T2 Tube amp as an amp, but looking for an alternative to the warm tube sound. I was looking at the Atom and the Topping L30, but worried I'm going a bit over the top for easy to drive IEMs. I have the FIIO A3 and couple other portable AMPs, but I'm looking to for something a little better for my desktop. I am planning on getting planar IEMs in the near future once I decide which set to go for. Do you think I'd still get the benefit from the Atom or have you an opinion on an alternative?
@harry501501 - The Atom is not great for IEMs, the closest I could recommend which is not very warm is FiiO K5 PRO. Nothing else isn't really a considerable upgrade until it. Also if you want an All In One for both iems and headphones, go for TR-AMP from Earmen. Great purchase
Why do you say ATOM is not great for IEMs? It has extremely low output impedance, and extremely clean performance. Sounds fantastic to me, for IEMs, headphones and speakers.
@harry501501 - My guess is that it may have been a joke comment (?)
Atom has a rather high noise floor with IEMs, which is why I don't recommend it with them, tons of hiss. Unless they changed it on newer versions and added a speaker output too
