Nice as always.
Neo 5 is a great IEM, at times the mid bass can be to much. But it is also some of the bold magic here.

@Leonarfd Thank-you!
Just find a cable to equalize the bass. Like the Bass cable, though not the Vocal Cable, too thin. The Leo Plus does it and the Penon OSG.

Keep in mind I'm also using the silicone wide-bore tips and the bass heavy WM1Z, most of the time, that also owns a treble spike.

Thanks for the review. Which one do you like most between Penon Globe and ISN NEO5? I want to buy Penon Globe since reading your review (I think) but after this review, may be I should change my target to NEO5 instead.

@nhumdorn,
That’s an interesting question. As many of us have had an ongoing relationship with the Globe. Where I actually view is slightly different than when I wrote the review. Why? Mainly due to having way more cable options for the Globe. Now you don’t have to read (all) my cable reviews in entirety, except the recent Bass Cable totally changed how I feel about the Globe. I like it more and more all the time, strangely enough? The Bass Cable changed the midrange of the Globe adding forwardness and definition, as well as sculpturing (and enhancing) the bass!

@nhumdorn,
So here is the thing, the Globe and ISN Neo 5 are very close to being the same fit, but maybe the Neo 5 fits even better. The bass is excessive with the Neo 5, so you need to come to terms with how you feel about that. That extra authority gives the Neo 5 an added presence over the Globe. Yet it’s darker and not so nimble. Where if you read the Penon thread at times you will take note of listeners finding the brightness a little too much with the Globe? Yet, I have never found it to be too bright, except variations at times of too thin/brittle.........maybe a little, until I changed cables and sources, then I was fine. I’m nitpicking.

@nhumdorn,
So I found many new ways of interpreting the Globe vocals and experiencing the Globe low-end. Meaning there were many ways into it, even changing to the Penon OSG (while expensive) completely changed the tone for the better with the Globe. I have had less time with the Neo 5? What that means is I’m not sure which is better, though I ended experiencing a new Globe, which enhanced the respect (I had) for it? :) I feel almost that the Globe is one of the very best IEMs Penon has made, and keep learning about it. Wildly a times these cable changes almost make the Globe sound like vocal style playback emphasis in an IEM, which to me is the best I’ve heard it.

@nhumdorn,
But this Neo 5 really is a new style of tune, where the Globe kinda is representative of the past. There is more stage open (inside) with what the Globe provides, where in a way the Neo 5 has a thicker denser playback, where the Globe is free and more separated. They truly are different yet both showcasing the ISN/Penon sound. If you study the graphs on each you can see a little how they differ, except that doesn’t tell the whole story. But to summarize the Globe bass is more sculpted and has the ability to become even more controlled with cables. Also the Globe is basically brighter. Where the playback of the Neo 5 offers an added component of overall thickness, to where it’s more filled in, everywhere and those midrange/upper peaks give a style of clarity, from that thickness.

how does it compare to MP145?

Hello Redcarmoose. Why aren't Penon, ISN cables shaped like an ear? Thanks!

@jotaerre,
You mean why don’t they have ear-guides? You can special order them with guides. Some don’t like ear-guides.

Hello! What a surprise. Thanks for the clarification on the hooks. As the days go by I have realized that I prefer without, jajaja! Much more comfortable.
No, never heard the MP-145. I don't think I will, the reason? Well, just this afternoon I uncovered Pandora's box and unleashed the full potential of my S12 Pro. Look at the center of the photo (well, I still don't know how to upload photos 🥴). Spectacular sound in all three ranges. Incredible! Really.

Hello @Redcarmoose! I'm delighted with the synergy between the HiBy R3 II and the great Neo 5 IEM set, you know. I have been able to listen to my favorite music library with a flat response, which is what I was looking for, without EQ or MSEB parametric EQ and all this thanks to the development of the abilities of the Neo 5 in day-to-day use. If all that has been said I want to improve it: perhaps with the CS02 cable that you brag about so much lately?😄 Liqueur Tips? The Neo 5 suits me very well right now with the black silicone tips and specifically with the Letshuoer S12 Pro, they stand out more.

Very grateful as always.😉
