First of all thanks for a great review. I listen to jazz most of the time. I love the sound of the v2 but I also noticed some harsness in the treble. This is almost gone after the 200 hours burn in. In your review you are not talking about the treble of the Stealth. I also listened to the Stealth in a shop last weekend (new out of the box). I noticed that the treble is more smooth on the Stealth but I also noticed the more "aggressive" into your face sound of the bass. The v2 has a wider soundstage, it puts the leadsinger upfront and the rest of the band more in the back, with the Stealth thing are more intimate and closer to eachother.
The question is that I do not know what to do. According to your review the bass of the Stealth will not become as smooth as on the v2 and I think the bass of the v2 is great for jazz. What is your opinion and what should you do when you were me? You heard both headphones while they were burned in. Looking forward to your answer. Cheers Fonz
The problem with this review is that you’re comparing the “v3” to the v1 but not the pre-stealth v2 so we have no way of knowing of the changes you’ve noted are just as present in the pre-stealth v2.
Hi, Since you have the arya stealth as well would you agree with another reviewer in that the h1000stealth is an arya on steroids?
Thanks!
Greetings, Anouk,
The HEKSE is "stealth magnets"........and the '2023 HEK v3 Steath is "Stealth" Magnets.
The HEKSE, is the HEK V2, made with "Stealth Magnets".
The HE 1000 v3 "Stealth".... Is the V2 with "Stealth Magnets".
Anyone understanding what im showing you?
Now, if you go and review, then the '2023 HEK V# "stealth", is getting the same reviews, same description, as the HEK-SE.
A.) = "More treble, more bass, less soundstage".
So, what do you think is going on here?
The '2023 Hifiman 1000 V3 Stealth, and the HEKSE< have the same frame, pads, drivers, and "stealth" magnets.
What's different?
The HEKSE has the old cables, and the really good custom box, and costs more money.
Having said all that..
I own the HEK1000 V3, and it does have a different tuning then the V2 or SE.
Its warmer, extremely balanced FR response.
Gone is the sucked out mids and the hyper treble.
