yea kinda, its just they get abit abused at work so spending like £250 on some nice entry level ones just is to much for me at the moment. but i want better than my old soundmagic e10's. yea thos SG-01's look pritty good, look like they would suit me better for listening for long hours. how is there treble? harsh or splashy treble is the one thing which kills my ears, i like a warmer sound.
and what would be your choice for going up a price bracket say around the £100 mark

If you like yourself some bass. I would also look into the SG-03 which I did a review for. Might be what your looking for. Check out the all metal build on these things. https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/reecho-sg-03.25114/reviews#review-25833.. These have some stout sub bass but also has a good resolving ability due to the higher end titanium plated dynamic it is using. Great for modern genres of music. The SG-01 actually has the better balanced tuning but for a slightly warmer take with stout sub bass the SG-03 is crazy good. Treble is done well on both sets but the SG-01 has a bit more in the way of treble emphasis. SG-03 might be what your looking for. They fit snug in a medium sized ear perfectly.

Nice enthusiastic review DS! i ordered set after reading your comments on the Discovery thread, already shipped! The SG-03 really are a bass canon with an upgraded copper cable....getting into Aurosonics 2.0 territory in fact!

What the hell were they thinking with the shells??!? The wood is fantastic but the shape and plastic look terrible. They could have made a decent shell without the chitzy shape, put $5 (or $20) on the price and they still would sell in droves going by these reviews. I'd like to try them an probably will but i'm really struggling to get past the heart, and not because its a love heart, but because it reminds me of cheap 80s toy crap. Are they any better in person?

The reason they went with this particular shape is due to the dual dynamic implementation. I am very certain the back end of the shells houses the two dynamics side to side vs being on top of each other. Which would be perfect for a heart shape shell or the back end of a triangular shaped shell which the GK10s are. They know the shells are a bit awkward and definitely not conventional. I expect these folks to improve on their next earphone in this regard.

The graph posted by BGGAR looks really odd. It has a very different mids to bass graph compared to most other graphs I've seen. Will check his review when it's out. The mid bass should should pretty bloated on these. You didn't experience that at all?

I didn't see there was a thread for these before I posted my comment. Sorry.

Endorsing here. Dsnuts analysis is accurate and GK10 does live up to ace of spades♠️ of sub$100, it can trade blows to many class-A IEMs which usually costs $300-$2000 range. It’s a basically no brainer blind buy.

you write that it compares favorably with other tribrids (DD+BA+piezzo), how does it compares with the $100 bqeyz spring1 ? thanks

Dont have the Spring 1 but I do have the Spring 2. very comparable to the Spring 2. GK10 is not as warm sounding as the Spring 2 with a tighter faster bass. Subbass has better texture on the GK10. Mids are not as forward on the GK10 but again the mids are not recessed either. Trebles is where they are similar Spring 2 has a touch more upper treble the GK10 has a more even treble presence.

GK10 is $45- Spring 2 is currently $169 or so.

is there a reson why this gk10 thread very often refers to cable swapping and burn-in, 2 subjects that are often questionned by science based audio sites such as asr ? does it appears at the same frequency in all other iem threads or is there something specific to this thread ? thanks

Because our ears don’t lie and burn in and cables tips seriously improve the sound of GK10 till it’s reference level @t 47$

about cable swapping, when you did your blind testing to avoid placebo effect did you get the cable right 10 times out 10 or what it more like 7 times out of ten ? thanks
