Disagree on the sound. I found the midrange scratchy and harsh just like the T50RP, and the bass nonexistent. Definitely colored.

That's interesting how different our experiences with the TH500RP are.

I am a big fan of the TH-500rp, I think they are on par with a few high-end headphones and for a bit less money.
They might not immediately wow the listener, but I find them very natural sounding, with a full and enjoyable sound that really brings out the emotion in music,
I will have to post my review up soon, no lack of bass in my opinion, and the midrange is very smooth.
They have the technical ability and speed of a planar, yet in a smooth and natural presentation.
