NymPHONOmaniac and you convinced me to pull the trigger. My E5000 was missing a bit of air and resolution in the top end at times. Noise isolation also was a let down. Let's see what these little rose gold babies have in their guts!

@F700, Congrats on your decision. I really hope you like the B1 as much as I do. I look forward to reading your thoughts on the final thread ...

I've enjoyed the review! The B1 cable is the same as the one that comes e5000? I remember that I had some issues with its higher stiffness.

@iBo0m, yes they share the same cable but are worn differently. With the B1, the cable wraps around the ear. You may find with this difference, the cable stiffness is less of an issue. I’m sensitive to this myself, but I never felt in my long listening session that it was a problem.

Yea, I've tried e5000 over ear even though it looked kinda weird but I didn't feel the weight that much. Anyway, soft is soft :).

@iBo0m I also wear my E5000 over ear, much better fit/insertion and sound in my opinion

As for the fit/seal/sound, I was able to get at about the same level for both wearing styles. However, more pleasant was definitely wearing them over ear.

Anything close to the sound of these under $40? 700 is over anybodys budget. ✌️☕

@actorlife, unfortunately, it will be virtually impossible to find this level of performance in a $40 IEM, however, I would check out the final E1000 since it sells for under $50 and from all the reports I’ve seen, many like it a lot. Good luck!

If you are lucky enough you can find e3000 at about $50  While e1000 is definitely not bad for its price, the e3000 is a step up. Also, I'm looking forward how will the B2 stand against B1/B3 as the cheapest option.

I just started listening to the B2 after burning it in, and it’s pretty good. A bit brighter than the B3, but still enjoyable. My review on it should come out in a week or so ... I’m beginning my review process on the B3.

Sounds good so far. I'm looking forward to the comparison! There's been a diagram that compared B1, B2, B3 (e3000 and D8000) – I believe released by the FA. While e3000 was the most balanced between them (D range, spaciousness, clarity) the B2 and B3 was quite close to each other. The DD inside B1 had more “narrower dynamic range”. I’m curious whether it will comply with your experiences :). I guess that B2 and B3 should nicely complement B1.

Just want to add to the previous comment... (there’s no point comparing $700 IEMs to $40 - $50 IEMs :D), I think you’ll get the best ratio between price and performance with some chi-fi earphones (let’s say from AliExpress). The only downside might be the build quality and lifetime period, but it’s “just a 40 bucks” :D But let’s keep this thread about FA :).

@iBo0m Yeah, you need to make some musculation before going into cable swapping with the B serie LOL But they include a ''tool'' to help. In fact, i mostly complaint about too loose mmcx (so cant complaint with tigh connectores!), but E5000 are easier to unplug than B serie. Anyway, I always go back to stock cable, but balanced cable is excellent with those too!

@iBo0m, I’m not sure I agree with the B1s placement in that graph. I felt the dynamic range was good, but I did notice the there was a flattening to the sound at high volume levels. Maybe that’s what final meant. The B3 does seem more dynamic.

Balanced cables are usually a question whether you manage to get the right IEMs/DAP combo.

Exactly what I was talking about :), it's always nice to hear others opinions because we usually hear the things slightly differently... By the diagram, FA tried to give a general idea... Based on the drivers, it would be even surprising if both B2 and B3 have almost a similar sound signature/response.

Eyes On Me by Faye Wong is horrifying on the B1, That 7K spike is Ear-Piercing, it hurts. It is manageable at low volume but this IEM shines w/ Higher Volume? =(
