Thanks for the review. Considering btr5 or es100 with an iphone. Where did you find that the iphone 6 had an output impedence of 10ohms? According to my research it is 3.2ohms?
I was surprise this little BT receiver is very good < 110 usd.
Light weight.
I left my Sony WM1Z at home most of the time now.
Now, it's between Fiio BTR5(110usd) vs AQ Cobalt(299 usd) war now.
@frank33v I was speaking from memory, which is obviously wrong. I do remember a distinct loss of bass with the Andromedas with my iPhone 6, though it could have been the iPhone 5. Thanks for correcting me on that.
As said in the BTR5 thread, the BTR5 did need and does benefit from having a balanced output and is a positive not a negative.
A-B testing SE vs Balanced with my SE846's and K10U the music sounds more alive/3D/holographic/pristine/distinct via balanced out of the BTR5. Just more organic/musical for me.
Best BT & DAC/AMP combo yet.
Who knows if SE could have been made better.
I'm preferring it to my DFC which has now been sold.
If your not after a higher end BT/DAC with balanced you buy a cheaper BTR3.
Thanks for sharing mate...,
I really like my BTR5 ... for what it is, it really exceeded my expectations...
I have tried it with a few DAPs and my iPhone XS using both outputs ... I like the way I can keep using my cable and iems without having a separate BT cable....
For me it matched best with my WM1A but it worked well with my Cube SR15 and ZX507... sound quality wise I thought it had a signature like the Topping DXD ... but that’s from memory... I do much prefer it over other Fiio DAPs I’ve had like the M11...
And it’s size means I can keep it with my iems and use if needed...
how would the Fiio BTR 5 compare to something like ibasso dc01 dongle to use with a galaxy note 10, in terms of sound quality performance only, to use with iems only
