When I decided to start doing reviews, I told myself that something would have to be perfect to get five stars. The sound quality is as close to perfect as I've ever heard in an IEM. The only thing is that I like them so much and don't want to risk breaking them that I don't leave the house with them. I will use my budget stuff for outside the house (and miss the A83 the whole time LOL)

Great review! I absolutely love that cable. Want to get a similar one for my Westones.Recommendations are welcome. The form factor of the housings was a miss for me. The lower part of the housing made my tragus hurt in just 15 minutes of listening. Soundwise, my pair had a terrible dip somewhere in the 4kHz followed immediately by a peak. Made the treble sound really dry and not sparkly regardless of the many tips I tried.

The A83s, always high on my wish list for their sheer looks as well as fantastic SQ, as acclaimed by many. Price though, sets this in unreachable league for me currently.

Got my set a week ago and it's awesome! The SQ is superb. It's the most expensive IEM I own by a long shot, but boy does it sound good. My previous IEM was the Havi B3 Pro 1, no slouch in it own regard at the $60 it commands, but this is better in nearly every regard. Except for the memory cable thing, I'm really not much of a fan of memory cable. However, I can report (as can someone else in the A83 thread) the newer ones ship with a cable that has a cinch on it. However, unlike you, I am using this every day (as a student walking around campus all day) and they're holding up fine for now. Apprehensive about it naturally; I have over $200 hanging over my ears! Who wouldn't be?

Great review! I also love my Fidue A83, and agree that while the always sound special, finding the right tip and seal is impactful. Currently using JVC spiral dots in Large size and it is musical bliss!

In all honesty, It's never been about having "the best of the best" because that's not what the general consensus of consumers purchase. I do want to eventually get something along the lines of the Kaiser 10u, but right now I really enjoy having all these IEMs. I enjoy being a reference to anyone buying an IEM that won't "break the bank". Cheers
