Disclaimer:
As a customer myself, I’ve absolutely no relationship with Effect Audio. I paid for the cable and did this review purely out of hobby and my own free time. This review is purely based on what I hear and wrote everything down truest.
Also, I would like to take this chance to extend my gratitude to Effect Audio/Euphoria Audio Eric for providing such an excellent customer service. Upon contacting Eric in regards of ordering the Lionheart, Eric still remember that I brought my Empire Ears Phantom (Custom) with Euphoria about 8 months ago and told me to drop by Euphoria again with all my uiems/ciems for polishing. Because he brought back a uiem/ciem polishing kit from Japan and he wanted to provide a free polish/coating for all the existing customers. Yes, I purposely Bold and Underline those words because he literally said all, free and all the existing customers. Can you imagine what if I have 10 uiems and 10 ciems?? it cost JPY4000 (SGD$50) per polish in Japan. And yes, he wants me to bring it all down so he revitalizes all that for me! Do the calculations yourself! What a lad, what a service.
A little info about the kit. It’s a Nano-Glass coating and that removes scratches as well as creating a layer of shield to protects the uiem/ciem from future scratches!! The coating last up to 3 years.

"Following the erratic and creative designing ideology of "Heritage Series", we went back to the drawing block and started from scratch, forgetting every we've ever learnt. We went back into sourcing new materials, and for this case we tested out at least 8 different kinds of non-audio industry specific "Copper" before settling upon a specific "Copper" that serves as a core catalyst for "Lionheart". Unboxing Experience:
The black box looks very elegant and classy, complement with a very nice Lionheart font and company logo on the bottom and Heritage Series on the side while on the back is all the information regarding the cable you purchased.
Inside the box reveals the flip up cover with an info card telling you that PSquared is made with rare Palladium Plating and Platinum Plating that gives you a wider spectrum, decadently richer and surreal dynamics together with a nice soft leather cable case. I personally love the whole unboxing experience, because I love black color things and it contrast nicely with the cable. Everything looks so elegant with the soft leather case inside making you feel that this cable you purchased is not a lousy cheap cable.
Cable Build Impressions:
There’s nothing much to talk about its build quality standards really. Coming from a user that owns a couple of Effect Audio cables (Ares II, Ares II+, Ares II 8w) and now Lionheart, build quality is definitely something EA customer shouldn’t worry about. There’s not once I got a cable with any issues from the wiring, to the y-split down to the terminations. Everything is very solid build.
Effect Audio even included a desiccant gel to prevent the cable from oxidation, very nice gesture and thoughtful from the company. This cable also extremely beautiful and elegant, numerous times I’ve caught someone’s eyes staring at it when I’m in the train. The clear insulation let you behold the naked strands of cleverly mixed gold, copper and silver wires beautifully laid together. The cable is extremely soft, flexible with a silky touch. Effect Audio uses a special Ultra-Flexi insulation that only found on the Heritage Series. Compared with many aftermarket cables, it’s easily one of the softer, more flexible cable in the market. And the best part is the cable weights almost to nothing. It’s so comfortable and weightless when I put on my ciem, both the ciem and cable just vanished into thin air.

Cable Sound Impressions:
Cable Burn in: 0 hours
Preamble
Eric from Effect Audio said that mixed materials cable takes longer time to burn-in and he recommends at least 100 hours. Straight from the box without burning in, I’m already found myself immersed with the smooth, liquidity and harmony sound characteristic. New cable usually sounded a little bit of grainy, but that’s certainly not the case with Lionheart. Lionheart Instantly transforms my DX208 + Phantom combo into a tube like sound with a high level of harmony. Although I’ve been using Ares II 8-wire for quite some time myself, Ares II 8-wire it’s already quite a 90% winning pair for an entry level upgrade in my opinion.
To me, Lionheart fulfilled the missing 10% that I've been looking for and I can finally put a stop to hunt for the best synergy pairing with DX208 + Phantom combo. Another thing to consider is, my Ares II 8-wire comes with PSquared 2.5mm plug which cost USD$350 (SGD$499) for premium bespoke series. While Lionheart 4-wire already includes the PSquared plug cost at US$499.90 (SGD$729).
Cable Burn in: 74 hours
Bass
Track used: Fantasy by The xx, Mango Drive by Rhythm, Sound, Angel by Massive Attack and World a Music by Ini Kamoze.
Lionheart Sub-Bass is very prominent. It further pushes Phantom capability to rumbles and slams while keeps the attack pacey. When listening to Fantasy by The xx, the rumbles comes in @ 01:21 feels like I’m sticking my head inside a massive sub-woofer and when I close my eyes, my ears almost can feel the driver is vibrating. Angel by Massive Attack also slams very hard, every slam feels like it’s a direct hit. Timbre of Bass, Kick Drums on World a Music by Ini Kamoze sound very accurate, very natural. Lionheart excels at couple of things and timbre is one of them and together with Phantom also well known for its timbre, you can imagine. Upper-Bass is on the warm side, but Lionheart still manage to keep the whole spectrum transparent and clean. You just don’t feel that anything is missing because of the warm. It’s easily one of the best copper core cable around in the market at this price range.
Mid-Range
Track used: Perfect by Chlara, Mozart Violin Concertos in D major KV 218, I. Allgro, Piano Improvisations Ubi Caritas by Ola Gjeilo and Breathe by Julie Erikssen.
Another thing Lionheart excel at is vocal. If you’re a fan of tube sound, Lionheart is the one. From the Mid-Bass to the Low-Mid Range thanks to Effect Audio expertise of selecting the materials. When listening to Perfect by Chlara and Breathe by Julie Erikssen, the Mid-Bass to the Low-Mid Range portraits a very liquidity, hallucinating and seductive vocal. The density of the notes hit straight to the bullseye. Just right amount to inject deeply emotions into your heart yet not too heavy to weight down the whole frequency, the gold and silver in Lionheart bumped a little on the Mid-Range and Upper-Mid Range making instruments sound more prominent while the copper core in Lionheart slightly dip the vocal position a little backward. Lionheart blends the combination of simultaneous musical notes beautifully and magically into the rest of the frequency. Lionheart nails the timbre again from the tracks Mozart Violin Concertos in D major KV 218, I. Allgro for violin and Piano Improvisations Ubi Caritas by Ola Gjeilo for piano. Both sound drop dead natural with a gentle touch of sparkle that doesn’t hurt your ears. If you play instruments you should know even playing a high note, it will never hurt your ears and that’s what I called realism. And we all know it’s very hard for a sound signature to match all kinds of instruments however Lionheart just nail it effortlessly. It is truly a very special cable and I’m seriously in love by now.
Treble
Track used: Quartet: I. Moderate by John Cage, The Sad Skinhead by Faust and Struck On You by Chlara.
Lionheart portraits Treble like a transparent jelly. It is transparent, clear on the inside for you to see through and smooth, slippery on the outside. Track like Struck On You by Chlara has lots of vocal sibilant usually still sound a little harsh for me with other copper cables but with Lionheart, you still hear all the sibilant just like the jelly is transparent and clear you can see the inside, but the outer layer of the sibilant has been smooth out the edges and added the slippery effect. Track on Quartet: I. Moderate by John Cage, the percussion instruments rings naturally as well. Track on The Sad Skinhead by Faust, cymbals sizzle and snare drum crispness on the Mid-Upper Treble is on smooth side but is extremely favorable for long hours of listening without feeling fatigue even on high volumes.
Separation, Imaging and Staging
Track used: Hotel California by Eagles, Mozart Violin Concertos in D major KV 218, I. Allgro, Violin Concerto No.2 in B Major, Sz. 112: II. By Renaud Capucon.
I don’t have any problem pinpoint every single instruments location, imaging is very accurate and clear. Phantom has a square type stage that has equally width, depth and height and cable synergy is very important for Phantom. Lionheart manage to expand all the dimensions further and equally grand as if like I’m using an 8-wire pure copper cable. Lionheart also manage to create the sense of air and extension similar to 8-wire pure copper cable which is very impressive for a 4-wire cable. I don’t feel any shrink of size when listening to huge hall classical concerto. Finally, I can ditch that “Hip Hop gold chain” my friends always jokingly talk about when I’m using 8-wire haha!
Comparison

Volume match:75
Ares II 8-wire vs Lionheart 4-wire
Tonality
Timbre for Ares II 8-wire has a slightly brighter, clinical and lively presentation as compared to Lionheart which is warm, smoother and very natural presentation.
Bass
Both Ares II 8-wire and Lionheart rumbles and extends equally but I feel that Lionheart slams a tad harder mainly because due to the more prominent bass. Attack for Lionheart is also a tad faster.
Mid-Range
Ares II 8-wire sound slightly analytical, forward and intimate as compare to Lionheart sound laidback, airy and liquidity. Lionheart has a thicker note but overall slightly cleaner presentation. Vocal and instrument sibilant also more prominent with Ares II 8-wire.
Treble
Treble for Lionheart is more prominent, smoother and near to zero harsh as compared to Ares II 8-wire laidback but brighter. For percussion and bells instruments etc, Ares II 8-wire has a slightly more clinical, lively presentation as compared to Lionheart smoother and musical presentation. I would still say Lionheart sound more true.
Conclusions
In my last visit to Effect Audio, another cable I've tried that is also very liquidity it's the Leonidas II. I found that Leonidas II will be the big brother of Lionheart and it definitely excel more in the technicalities. If price isn't the issue for you, you can go for Leonidas II. But for the price/performance ratio and value for money, Lionheart clearly is the winner in my opinion. Ultimately is still down to personal preference of sound signature. Lionheart to me is the one and it's the special one.
