Any difference in sound with the 9038S?

I don't have the 9038S. Maybe in the future if I may need even more power

Same dilemma here, to buy either this new version or a quality balanced cable in order to use the Sundara with the 9038s. The inner child wants the new toy but the grown up points toward the cable.
