Coming back to the a106, it`s a good speaker for the price, the sound is average but for $35 AUD, I`ve heard much worse, the UE Mini Boom and X-Mini II being the two examples I touched upon in my review. I`ve given it a higher score for versatility and of course the build and design factor in too. The sound isn`t poor for the price, in fact it`s quite good, but in the grand scheme of things it hardly sounds impressive if that clears things up... Looking on Amazon most of the reviews are above 4.5 stars so I think my review is actually quite negative but I can`t deny the appeal of such a product.
At the end of the day, I want my readers to look at my listening tests to decide whether such a sound is for them rather than saying that it`s outright good or bad with scores which I use purely for comparison between other products I`ve reviewed. Sorry for the mini essay and I appreciate what you`re saying, I do frequently go back to older reviews and tweak scores based upon my ongoing usage. I try not to positively score everything, but most of my reviews so far have been personal purchases that I, of course have researched and subjectively enjoy. Hope that clears things up.
