1000+ Head-Fier
Pros: Excellent resolution, Musical
Cons: Lacked attack at times, Highs can be a little "eh" at times, Size
I would like to thank the crew at Airist for adding me to the demo route. It was a pleasure meeting them at the NYC meet. This will be short and sweet...

Overall, the amp is excellent. It performed better in most aspects than my Benchmark DAC1, including having much more detail. It wasn't too analytical though, and it made for quite an enjoyable listening experience. The one area I felt it was sub-par in was the attack, but most people don't really care for attack frankly. I feel most people that listen to Jazz probably don't need the attack I crave listening to AC/DC, so it shouldn't be much of an issue. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't quite up to snuff. However, the soundstage was excellent. Each instrument was placed in its own little area of the soundstage, and it was really quite impressive.

The amp was very easy to listen to, and is an excellent product. At $2000 it may be hard to sell, simply because that's a lot of money for anyone to drop on an amp, but I feel the performance more than justifies its consideration at that price.

After owning the Soloist for months, and getting a new DAC, my opinion has changed drastically. I really love this amp. It's pretty good at everything. It has enough power for most headphones, but sometimes it sounds weird. Like my K240 Sextett sounds kind of sucked out. Regardless, with the T1, it's really an amazing pairing. I would highly recomend this amp to anyone with planars in particular.

Very strange I have the Soloist, HE-5LE and K340 and do not find the power lacking. About 12 o'clock on High with the K340 and about 1 o'clock on Low with the HE-5LE.

1000+ Head-Fier
Pros: Lots of EQ, Sound Quality, Looks, Expandable Storage, Smooth Ui, Android (although you cant really root, still good for apps)
Cons: Stand is annoying, Album Art, No Playlists
So I got this as a Bday present that I asked for. I've been using it for about 4 months now, and figured I should write this.

The player sounds very good, BUT, if you don't use the EQ, it doesn't sound so great TBH. The EQ completely fixes the issue. The charging mechanism where you need to deal with the little hatch is fairly annoying, and I'm worried the hatch will fall off. But it does use MicroUSB charging, so it's very easy to find chargers. The UI takes a bit to get used to, but I love it, only complaint I have is that if you go from the playing song to the song selection tab, it moves your location to where the current song is. Very easy to navigate however, and music settings can be accessed right from the music player, without opening an external app. The album art only accepts JPG's, not PnG's, which is annoying but I can get over it.

To make playlists, I simply used MP3 tag to rename the files to the song title, and then I put them in folders on the Z2. Each folder is essentially a "playlist" in a way.

The integrated apps like Facebook and twitter are cool, and the player makes a fantastic alarm. Waking up to the "Swamp People" theme song makes me feel ready to just kick ass.

Overall, highly recomend the Z2
