This and earfonia's review are the best I've read about this headphone. I wonder if I can even keep up with you guys, lol.

The only reason for me not getting this one, even though I want to try it, isthat it looks so similar to the Sony MDR-1A!!!

Excellent review! Agree with you, MSR7 that is positioned to be the consumer headphone is actually has the sound quality and signature of studio monitor headphone. Reference tonality with excellent detail retrieval. While M50x which is supposedly for studio monitoring, has a more fun type of sound signature

Very nice review! "Furthermore, M50x doesn't have the same level of treble extension as MSR7. " that's what I was curious about.
 
I'd be curious how the SQ compares to Dolphin's. 

@Ira Delphic : Dolphin has a lot more bass, more colored and less natural sound.  It's fun and great for listening, but doesn't have the same level of refinement.

Those cans are beautiful.
