Thanks. I suspected more than bitrate is changing between the modes as well. Holding all other things equal, I think mere mortals would have a hard time hearing the difference in DSD64/128/256. The changes are so obvious that I suspect something else is going on.

I had a pair of Mest MK2 with defective bass that had to get replaced under warranty. Luckily for me, it was only in one earpiece so very obvious. I was never told why one earpiece had no bass, all I can tell you is that it is definitely possible.

Man, it’s really too bad the dac mode has so much latency on this thing. Dongles aren’t too big or heavy but it’s another thing to EDC. Dignis case is holding up well. Loving this with the MEST MK2 and Lirics.

After reading your last message, I managed to recreate the same situation. In my basement office, I can get 100-120mbps down on the ZX707. Playing Tidal over headphone out, I can get 85-100 mbps. With LDAC on and Bluetooth playing Tidal, I'm getting 9-15 mbps. Seems to be a known problem...
