Regrettably putting this up for sale. Australia only as these were one of the few sets delivered here. These are my all time favourites but barely used due to owning too many other headphone options and not wanting to cause any wear and tear to this set. Stax L300 Limited #130/800 with...- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
When asked, Ryan said that the Mk2 has slightly more bass, and more treble with a slightly wider soundstage. But I'd love to be able to see some measurements. I've measured my own pair of Mk3 against itself with pads mounted in the baffle vs Mk2 style (over cup) and the treble certainly goes up...- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
So got the Fidelio X1 in and had a bit of time to compare. Immediately notice they sounded darker. I did comparisons to the Lambskin and the Proteins and the X1 was darker than both. Not necessarily in a bad way, as despite being darker its fairly balanced. Bass on the X1 is plentiful for an...- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Was your review unit an Mk2 or Mk3? Also what pads were you using with it? A few differences with each but would be good to know for anyone looking to get the exact one you described.- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
For any really efficient headphones, you will hear the noise floor very clearly. However on the Argon Mk3 you won't be bothered by the noise floor unless you turn it up to ear damaging levels. The A-100 has been the only amp I own that can do that.- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Just scored myself a Fidelio X1 for cheap. When they come in I'll compare as they seem to be close enough to the X2.- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Today I tried wrapping the pads around the cup on my Mk3 in the same way the Mk2 pads are mounted. Resulted in much less leakage and a slight increase in bass impact. This was great with the proteins. The clarity of the treble peak along with the extra bass impact meant I could listen at lower...- renugaid

You don't get any balanced cable from Modhouse. Just a Vmoda unbalanced 1/8" cable. Regardless of choosing the balanced option you will need to sort out balanced cabling separate.- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Balanced end is the same pinout as a 3.5mm trrs from an iFi nano black. 2.5mm needs an adapter from MEE audio to change the poles. For an xlr you either need custom or a lot of adapters.- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
I can wholeheartedly agree. Having the Argons, modded D5000 and stax L300 Limiteds, I find myself switching between Argons and Stax depending on the game. D5000 with the angled J$ pads get less love these days but were my go to for years. Stax bass is actually really impressive with the...- renugaid

Modhouse Audio Argon - T50RP MK2/3 & T60RP
Got myself an Argon MK3 recently thanks to another head-fier. I have an old Markl modded D5000, Stax L300LE and 58X with the diy heaven mod. I love them all and my D5000 was up until a few months ago, my only deaktop pair. The Argons beat them for me. Not in bass quality, but in the balance...- renugaid

Head direct EF1 repair
Hi all, My EF1 died today and I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for to repair. It died while I was having issues with my computer and making changes to its bios. The amp was plugged into the front onboard audio jack and each time I saved bios settings the computer would completely...- renugaid

Ok so this is a cry for help from my fellow Head-fiers in the U.S. I am an avid gamer and love my headphones to bits for playing games as well as listening to music. Now Electronic Arts has a promotion running in the U.S. with exclusive game unlocks using codes from specially marked Dr. Pepper...- renugaid

Ok so I'm just wondering if theres anyone else who is experiencing the same thing or whether or not its just me having these issues. DX1000 or LA7000?
Just got the Jmoney V2 pads in. Absolutely amazing workmanship on these. The harshness has been nullified almost completely and my upgraditis has almost been stopped in its tracks (i say almost because I'd definitely get an LA7000 if the price was right) and these pads have definitely improved...- renugaid

EF1 transformer up in smoke...
hmmm well i dont have the warranty for the EF1 since I bought it from another headfier second hand and it also has the hiflight mods so I'm not sure of my chances of sending it through to get fixed up and how much it would cost. If the EF5 is going to get me a better amp all around I may just...- renugaid

cmss-3d headphone + yamaha straight enhancer = massive soundstage, pinpoint accuracy as well as an alternative to that crap x-fi crystalizer but is actually good and extends the low end as well as the top end without any static distortion. My preferred choice for gaming on the PC now. the silent...- renugaid
