I have an iMac computer and bought a used pair of Yamaha MSP3 speakers for very cheap. I have them hooked up to the headphone output of the computer and I'm getting very good sound. I like that I can use the volume keys on the keyboard to control the volume. I'm wondering what kind of...- mjcmt

Power amp for computer speakers
I figured the distortion may be higher but if the amp is powerful enough I thought it may work. Generally but not alway true, vintage gear has a strong midrange presence with gently rolled off frequency...- mjcmt

Power amp for computer speakers
I want to use the headphone jack output of my iMac to feed directly into a discrete power amp to drive my JBL Control One monitors. I will then use the iMac's volume and EQ to control the feed into the power amp. Is this doable? I'm considering a vintage power amp, possibly a Dynaco ST-80...- mjcmt
