The new USB cable is powered. The USB board of the Hermes was dead. Very poor design.

There is an ESD protection chip implemented near the USB port. But it might be not good enough or badly executed. I agree with you that the damages must be invisible.

Did you have any conclusions on what might cause your USB board malfunction?

Thank you. I tried but no luck. I also tried connecting the Hermes to another PC (with Denafrips usb driver freshly installed), still no luck. Maybe, the new usb cable was faulty which might cause malfunction of the Hermes' usb chip/port?

My Hermes was working flawlessly for last 6 months. Today i tried to test a new Usb cable, after that my PC did not recognized the Hermes anymore (both via the new and old usb cable). I tried to reinstall the usb Driver, tried different usb ports on PC (both 2.0 and 3.0) but none works...

I was afraid that brushing the nano liquid inside those connectors would cause to short-circuit because those pins are so close together. I'll give it a try then. Thank you.

How do you apply the nano liquid to the usb, hdmi, sata cables and ports of devices? Both metal shield and connector pins?

Yes, the Hermes is a DDC. IMO, the pontus is better value than the venus. And in the future you may upgrade the pontus to the terminator to pair with the Hermes.

I would buy Pontus II & Hermes for the same price tag of Venus II.
