HiFiMan Susvara
It doesn't sound better to my ears. I find the amplifier section of the RME to be good, but the HDVA 600 sounds smoother and more refined. Have you heard any of the Sennheiser amps?- MikePio

HiFiMan Susvara
This is what I will be using to drive the Susvara. Is it enough? I know it is not optimal. Anyone heard this Susvara via the Sennheiser amps? Thanks.- MikePio

HiFiMan Susvara
Do you use the Susvara with the RME ADI-2 as the DAC? If so, how is the sound? I have the same DAC and was curious to hear how the synergy is, I find the RME incredibly neutral and transparent. Cheers.- MikePio

The Empyrean Elite is supposed to have more detail. I wonder how the Expanse would compare. Great impressions.- MikePio

Dan Clark Audio EXPANSE Review: Interview, Measurements, Impressions
Hello everyone! I am looking to finally upgrade from my HD800 (SDR) and think that the Expanse would be a good choice. I really do enjoy very detailed headphones with great imaging and soundstage. I will attach a photo of my current setup (RME Adi2 + (XLR) Sennheiser HDVA 600). I know it is far...- MikePio

Pesky HD800 again... need advice.
I actually don't have an issue with HD800's peak in the 6-8khz region ever since the installation of the SD mod, it tamed that down perfectly for me. One of my favorite things about the HD800 is how transparent and revealing they are in regards to the rest of the audio chain, unfortunately, my...- MikePio

Pesky HD800 again... need advice.
Hey everyone, First off, let me just say it is nice to be back on the forums again. I feel like I finally want to make the next step to try out a tube amplfier for my SD modded HD800's. Currently I am using a Marantz CD6005 as source and the Audio Technica HA-5000 amplfier. I really enjoy the...- MikePio

Ambient Music
I think the best recommendation I can give you for finding music similar to what you describe is this list created by the user Wilczur on rateyourmusic http://rateyourmusic.com/list/wilczur/%E2%80%A1-dark-ambient-essentials-%E2%80%A1-450-albums-ranked/ This is a quality list of... -
The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Very true, seems like there will always be a trade off and I guess the best would be to find a middle ground ( I am still searching ) where you still retain most of the transparency and sound-stage while reducing the treble glare and perhaps (if possible) add some more weight and substance to...- MikePio

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
SonarWorks seems to be the easiest and user friendly option out there for EQ plus it definitely does a great job but after experimenting for some months now with different EQ software I have realized that no matter what EQ software you use it comes at a price. With SonarWorks I have found...- MikePio

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Recently I have been playing around with EQ including SonarWorks which is very regarded around here. Since I am not experienced in this EQ stuff, I just wanted to mitigate the 6KHZ peak and see what difference that would make to the final sound. I basically wanted to EQ as little as possible to...- MikePio

Just developed these shots. Bought the film from an old antique shop with a camera, expired and unknown storage conditions. All the photos turned out to have this kind of sepia and excessively grainy look for a 200 ISO film.- MikePio

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
Thanks for the recommendation! I could just use the black treasures I have now, just have to get the adapter. Will definitely put it on my watch list, just to see how it sounds. I currently have the Hifiman EF5 amplifier that uses 12AXU7 tubes (it is a hybrid amp) and I did not like the HD800...- MikePio

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
The most I do with my HD800 is add slight crossfeed and I have a pair of black treasures CV181-Z from a buffer (actually makes the sound slightly fuller and wider) though doesn't impart any major tube flavor like a traditional tube amplifier since from what I know it is a cathode follower...- MikePio

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
That is insane... I paid way too much for mine when I bought them brand new. Great value for someone looking to give the HD800's a go, risky but for that price worth every penny. Do you guys also have this issue with these headphones, I have a collection of albums that sound good with the...- MikePio
