Do any of you know if Wayne (wje) have Beyers J$ pads? Seems like they the best option, keeping the look as near as the original one and have the best sound.

That's what I thought. Most, if not all resellers must have the latest revision. Unless, of course, you get a used one, as Matt said.

Nice to know jerg. Seems like you found a solution to this problem. I'm ordering a pair of pleathers in case I don't like the mod and definitely try that.

I'm so annoyed by the fact that the sound gets so much better when you "break" the seal. Much more bass impact. Did you guys tried anything to improve that?

I remember that Matt. Too bad it didn't work out. I'll get some Beyer pads to see if I can get some improvement over the original pleather ones.

I couldn't agree with you more. They should invest some time and R&D to develop a new earpad. For me, the actual ones are very confortable, but there's definitely an improvement if you pull them, like you said, about a inch away from my head. This will probably get worse over time as the pads...

Guys, this is my second day with the HE-400 and I notice something. If I move the earcups away from my head in a way that the earpads just touch my head, the bass impact increases a lot. I don't know if my earpads are too thin, the clamp force too high or my head is way bigger than average...

I also have a Senn HD600 with me right now and although it's a night and day difference regarding comfort levels, I found the HE-400 pretty good. Yes, it's heavy, the clamp force is above the average, but overall it's a comfortable headphone.

Finally got my hands on the HE-400. I must say I'm in love with it! Worth every penny. I'll come back with my first impressions of it.   Forgot to ask you guys something: any album recommendation to fully enjoy this headphone? 

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that next time. Who knows if HE-400 will be my last Hifiman headphone?
