Anyone use Open Office?
I use Gnumeric and AbiWord in my office and in home. The environment in my office is MS and I don't have big problems with it. The speed is very good and I open and save all files I need to. As mentioned in previous posts the only thing that might break is that when M$ user opens the document...- the_villain

Sennheiser HD540 question
I have a HD530 and a HD650. In my opinion the plugs are different atleast in size and form. HD530 is almost identical to HD540.- the_villain

AKG K26P - old and new (burn-in and some observations)
Hello. Here are my thoughts about the my new AKG K26P against my old K26P. First of all by "the old" I mean the cans with the old pouch with the zip, the "new ones" are with the pouch, closing by strings. When I first got my "old" AKG's some one year ago I was initialy extremely disapointed...- the_villain

Headphone Sightings 2
I saw a GRADOS this evening. The event wouldn't be so amazing if I wasn't living in Sofia, Bulgaria. The guy was at the busstop and the Grados were SR40-SR225 - couldn't see it was dark. At first I was like - "hey how are you, what are those Grados?". But then I thought it would be impolite to...- the_villain

Current fads that annoy you (spinning car rims)
1. When someone with a car doesn't give way to the bus in a trafic jam -there are 50 people in the bus hurrying for work, he is just one person. 2. Not giving turn signals in trafic 3. Trafic cops using some improperly positioned road sign to take bribes 4. Men wearing all white - usually...- the_villain

Sennheiser HD540 Reference
Hi. I actually have the Sennheiser HD 530 II and I find them quite the opposite: not very extended treble and more boomy bass than my DT 800's. I don't know how realted are the drivers of 530 and 540 though.- the_villain

Sennheiser Profit Margin
And also considering, that the HD650's are directly derived from HD600's. They have the same form, slightly different materials and the drivers are comparable also. That is also true for Beyerdynamic, AKG and Grado also.- the_villain

My little doggy is dying...
I'm so sorry for your dog. Dogs love unconditionally. They are best friends. I too had and have problems and pets dying, but it's another theme. I'm sure you'll find another dog - another character. Get your act together. There are millions out there in worse condition than you with no opportunities to better it. They are no more stupid than you and don't deserve their condition. Bose QuietComfort 2???
OK. I don't think the Bose are the only alternatives. I think all the firms producing headphones are making Active Noise Cancelation cans. Let's see... AKG K28NC - small, noise canceling, maybe the drivers from AKG K26P (not a bad thing). Sennheiser PXC 150 PXC 250 and PXC 300 are another...- the_villain

Any akg k14p lovers?
I was wondering whether the difference between AKG K14P and AKG K12P is only in the volume pot??? Also how much they cost in USA? Here they cost 10$ for K12P and 25$ for K14P.- the_villain

Sennheiser, AKG, Bose : low budget choice
Out of the mentioned cans the beyer DT231. But... If you are not so tight on the budget try one of these cans: Beyerdynamic DT531 (not closed, but great cans) - if you happen to find one in Italy (very much sought after here in Head-Fi). AKG K271 - Austria is neighbouring Italy, so the prices...- the_villain

Blast from the past - HD540 Gold
I have HD530's and the sound from mine is not bright at all - the cans also have some midbass hump and are fairly neutral. The pleather pads are not that bad (I have DT880's also) and the headphone is very lightweight and durable. The plastic is of high quality and the joint between the cup and...- the_villain
