ER-6i Review for the Motorcycle Rider
Thanks. I personally think it's okay to ride with earphones but I'm not going to suggest it's okay for everyone. I can still hear car horns and I'm always aware of the traffic around me. It's very important to stay alert and focused when you're riding a motorcycle. If you think music will...- broodwich

ER-6i Review for the Motorcycle Rider
I feel it's important to mention that there may be laws in your area that prevent the use of earphones while riding. I don't condone breaking the law. It's important that you check the laws in your local area before riding with earphones. Certain locations may prohibit the use of earphones...- broodwich

ER-6i Review for the Motorcycle Rider
I have been meaning to post this review here for awhile now but I haven't got to it until now. In August 2009, I wrote a series of reviews on potable audio products for motorcycle website where I'm a contributor and a moderator. The review that follows is on the Etymotic Research ER-6i. I...- broodwich

Headphone recomendations for my teenaged daughter
Thanks for all the feedback. I think the top choice on my list right now are the Audio Technica ATH-ES7. They are the most stylish of the bunch and they can be had for just about $100 or a little less. In second and third place are the Sony V6s and the Shure 440s. I had my daughter try on my...- broodwich

Headphone recomendations for my teenaged daughter
Wow, that was fast. Okay let's clear up some issues with my first post. Go ahead and disregard the ability to keep them in a purse. Let's just say they she will want to take them with her on trips and such. I like Steve 72s idea of the collapsible Shures. As far as circumaural being a...- broodwich

Headphone recomendations for my teenaged daughter
My daughter told me she wanted some new headphones for Christmas. My first thought was wow this is actually something her dear ol' Dad can figure out. I instantly thought, I could help her choose between IEMs, on the ear, over the ear, closed back, open back, etc. I started by just asking her...- broodwich

New IEM Owner Questions
Thanks for the feedback. I'll order up some small Olives and see how they work. I figured it would take some time to get used to the sealed off from the world feeling. Also, I think my ear issues may just be some kind of sinus blockage. It's probably just a coincidence that it happened on the...- broodwich

New IEM Owner Questions
I just received some ER.6i and I have been using them for only a couple days. I have tested all the different included ear tips but I have a few questions. The first time I tried the earphones for about and hour. The feeling was unusual and a bit uncomfortable. When I say unusual, I'm referring...- broodwich

Apple IEM - most underrated IEMs on the market
Are there any photos of the Apple IEMs in this thread or elsewhere? I'm particularly interested in a photo or two with them inserted in the ear. It turns out most sites do not post photos of their IEMs inserted in the ear. I don't know why? Also I haven't found a lot of threads on Head-Fi were...- broodwich

So I Preordered the iPhone 3G S
Are there any options out there for iPhone 3G S IEMs that have the inline mic and volume control? I know the Apple IEMs have this but I was wondering if there are any third party options out there yet. I also know that NuForce, Phonak and others make IEMs with the built-in mic and mute switch...- broodwich

Audio Technica ATH-AD700 First Impressions
I thought I would post a follow up on these headphones now that I have been using them for almost 2 months. I really don't have any complaints about these headphones. I do notice a tiny bit of discomfort on my head in the area surrounding my ears after a long time listing but it's very minor...- broodwich

Full Sized Cans, Check! It's time for IEMs (Audeo PFE, Nuforce NE-7M, or Etymotic hf2)?
Here is an intersting piece of information I didn't know about the Audeo PFEs. I spoke to a (somewhat) local dealer of Phonak products yesterday. The dealer is mainly a hearing aid vendor, the woman I talked to is a licensed audiologist and holds a masters degree in audiology. It took a few...- broodwich

Noob Headphone Selection Help Requested (AKG K141)
I haven't done anything with them yet. I plan to keep them and I am thinking seriously about getting them fixed up. I guess they will be my project cans. I don't know the fist thing about repairing them though. The suggestion about the K240 pads sounds like a good one. I'll do some searching for...- broodwich

Full Sized Cans, Check! It's time for IEMs (Audeo PFE, Nuforce NE-7M, or Etymotic hf2)?
The work that dfkt and HeadphoneAddict have put in reviewing the IEMs in question is great in both quantity and quality. I really appreciate their contributions to this forum. I must have missed Larry's direct comparison between the Audeo and the Nuforce. I'll have to search for that. I think...- broodwich

Full Sized Cans, Check! It's time for IEMs (Audeo PFE, Nuforce NE-7M, or Etymotic hf2)?
Okay so back at Christmas time I got a new set of Full Sized cans to replace my aging AKG K 141s. I did a bunch of research and a lot of reading of posts here at Head-Fi before I decided on what I wanted. I ended up with the Audio Technica ATH-AD700s and I am happy with them. Now it's time...- broodwich
