The Strokes - Is This It

Well, I'd never make the claim that a band is the "BEST out there". I just don't think it's possible to substantiate such a claim. I do however think they are quite good. I haven't regreted picking up the album yet. In fact, I think it's a wonderful addition to my music collection

Britney Spears - Britney (new album)

Hey hey hey, I'm not "admitting" I like Britney :P I think she's pretty, but yes, I actually LIKE her music (Ahem, actually, I think she's a stone cold fox.) Come on, don't ANY of you have just that ONE cd in your collection that is a completely guilty pleasure? (Not that I have any guilt about...

The Strokes - Is This It

Ok, this may be a stupid question (I'm full of them, ya know), but is that a woman's behind or a man's? I had a really stupid conversation with a friend recently where we concluded that if you . . . tuck it in (We were watching Scary Movie 2) then you really can't tell. The shape between a toned...

Where/How do you store your cans?

I just put mine in empty cardboard boxes. One way to recycle all those packing boxes I get when ordering online :P

    Need advice for portable-ish headphones

I have a pair of Koss PortaPros for my panasonic portable Fabulous headphones ($50 retail, but you can get it way cheaper). They are VERY small, light and fold up to fit inside a provided carrying case. Amazing bass, good mids, but highs are slightly lacking. Good if you like bass heavy music...

The Strokes - Is This It

Has anyone heard this album on their rig? I have a feeling the cd just doesn't do justice to the band. I realize they're sorta an Indie band, so they didn't get tons of money to record it well. On the one hand, it adds a nice charm to the album, a gritty authenticity. On the other hand, it's...

Britney Spears - Britney (new album)

*Sigh* When I started this thread, I thought it could be a place for Britney Spears fans to post what they thought of the album and encourage others to get it (that's the point of this forum, isn't it?) I expected a few Hecklers and was ready for people to not like the album (provided they'd...

once again, crappy grado build quality...

I have roomates with REALLY sensitive ears. So, leakage is definately an issue around here. FYI, Sennheiser 580s and Grado 325s leak a LOT. Have you considered closed headphones at all? I've considered for a long time the Beyerdynamic 831s (closed). Meier has them for $140 USD (GREAT price). You...

Britney Spears - Britney (new album)

dhwilkin, hehe, sorry :P Guess my review made you waste some money. I honestly loved this album. I hated her other two albums cause they were just plain annoying to me (even though I loved the videos ) She got some good producers for this one and came up with some interesting tunes. Quick...

Emo Turns out my roomate is a huge fan (who knew?) Listening to a few of their cds before I decide which one to buy. Thanks for the info

Britney Spears - Britney (new album)

Wow, I'm surprised you thought it was all fillter. I honestly thought every song was unique. On the other hand, I really don't know what "filler" means. I guess if you're using the concept that anything not meant to be a hit single is "filler", then well that's pretty much every album I own...

    Popular Music Trash-Talk?!?!

I've been complaining forever about the current state of Rock music. I asked my cousin the other day what he listens to. He responded "I love rock music." So, naturally, I ask him what his favorite bands are. He replied: Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, POD, Nickelback, two bands I've never even heard of...

At the Drive-In: Relationship of Command--- the "Nevermind" of the 00's?

Wow! I remember hearing "One Armed Scissor" on the radio and saw the video once or twice on MTV (at 3am) and loved it. It sounded great, but I sorta dismissed it thinking they were another "fad", one hit wonder band. If the rest of their album is just as good, I'll definately pick it up. Thanks...

once again, crappy grado build quality...

I stuff my Black Grado 325s (you know they're old) in a plastic bag with my Senheisser 580s every other weekend for a long bumpy ride home. They are perfect Only complaint I ever had was my friend stretched out the band on top so that the pads didn't touch anymore. I just squeezed them back and...

The Strokes - Is This It

Amazing album. Simplicity at its best. Every song is a gem. VERY rough recording, but that is part of the charm. You'd swear they just went in the studio for an hour and played. These guys are getting incredible hype and good reviews from the UK to the US. They have a video out for "Last Nite".

Britney Spears - Britney (new album)

I LUUUUUUUURVE this album (Careful, Moo, or you might get this instead of Weezer > ) Anyway, it is totally different from her other albums. Still pop, but mixed with some dance, 80s synth, 70s disco, along with tracks that sound like Madonna, Michael Jackson, Janet, etc. Comes with a free...

Has anyone heard Pete Yorn's "Music for the Morning After" ?

Just bought this album cause I was bored and it was cheap. Picked it up along with new Britney and the Strokes. (Yes, Britney, got a problem?) Very interesting. Sux that the stupid "Columbia" logo is larger than the name of the artists, but whatever :P

:) <- what headphones are those?

This may be kinda stupid, but: <- What headphones are those? They look like Grados to me (the original black grado 325s, not the new aluminum ones).

Let's Do it! The Final Holiday Exchange List

I just had a thought. How about everyone writes a music review of the cds they get? That way we can show appreciation for the gift we received while further spreading it around and letting people know about it. Anyone agree?

Let's Do it! The Final Holiday Exchange List

Hey, should we be emailing the person the name of the cd we are sending? It occured to me that with some ppl here having 1000+ cd collections, we might send them something they already own. MooGoesTheCow, I send Weezer. Hope you don't have any

    Hansen Boards now available

Wow, I can't wait! I think I'll build the first one with cheap parts. Second, in an altoid can (any suggestions) for portable. Then, blow all my money on the third one buying expensive parts like Dan suggested :P Does that sound like a good plan?
