Enthusiast's Single Ended Class A Headphone Amp
Attached is the schematic diagram for the proposed amplifier. I do not have any level control on this particular amp since I assumed that almost all the DACs/CD players/Streamers/PC Software/Phones I came across have built in volume controls, but I can always add and revise the PCB if it is...- Radical

Enthusiast's Single Ended Class A Headphone Amp
Dear Fellow Members, although I have been with Head-Fi since 2007, I have not contributed much over the years and decided to change that and offer all the enthusiastic DIYers with a very good sounding headphone amplifier to exceed even the most critical music lover's requirements. This...- Radical

How does a DAC provide better than CD sound. Does it change, subtract or add some bits from the original stream where it is required? How does it know that what its doing is better than original CD.- Radical

If you can hear the internally generated noise from a headphone amp, it should be binned regardless of flexibility it is junk. Your digitized media dynamic range goes out the window what is the point.- Radical

Pioneer A-335 strong enough to run HD650?
I am not sure what you mean by "will it be able to cope with the HD650's". You mention that this is a 40 watt amp. There must be something very wrong with the amp for you to making this comment. The output swing would be 18V and I am quite sure that this amplifier would drive a 300 ohm headphone...- Radical

Sennheiser 598 or 595 or 558 (or maybe AT AD700)?
I have lived with HD595 for five years and briefly owned a pair of HD558 which I sold on eBay within a few weeks after buying them. I recently acquired the HD598 because they look great on a photograph and I was hoping that they were an improvement on my well liked and very respected 595s. I...- Radical

Why the Sennheiser HD598s are considered the best headphones in the world. Sennheiser HD598 review.
The impedance peak occurs when the driver in its chamber resonates due to all the effects of inductive, capacitive, mass and compliance elements. It tells us resonance is at about 95 Hz, the impedance is otherwise flat. Closed headphones with some acoustic feedback from the rear chamber to the...- Radical

Best Headphone NO AMP (price is no object)
If you know your music and the characteristics of the instruments as any recording engineer should, the I suggest that you audition as many cans as possible to find the one that most closely resemble the sound that you are familiar with. This may be cheap or expensive, it does not matter but it...- Radical
