    Pro Tools & Keyboard

Well, I'm in the very beginning stages of guitar, so perhaps down the road that will be a more appropriate thing to do.. As for now, I think MIDI will reap the most benefits for my purposes. (making songs ) I'm still debating what MIDI controller + Interface would best suit my needs.. I...

    Pro Tools & Keyboard

Alright guys: UPDATE. I've been reading more about MIDI and such -- I've also ditched Fruity Loops for Sonar 7 Producer Edition. I've been taking notes (the best way for me to learn =P) on MIDI, and this is what I have so far: (Please tell me if anything is wrong) Midi Basics: MIDI...

    Pro Tools & Keyboard

Alright, so I was also thinking I wanted to create samples with my Gibson SG + amp.. would I need a separate midi interface for that? If so, which would be the best for the $? Reason I'm doing this is because I can't find any decent electric guitar samples.. and it's very difficult slicing up...

    Pro Tools & Keyboard

The process you describe (recording in midi format with all notes - > then converting to digi audio) I am not familiar with. In Fruity Loops, I plan out the notes on the individual soft synths (in piano roll), then arrange them in the playlist and mix them. I've also even begun creating my own...

    Pro Tools & Keyboard

Hm.. So.. The only way for me to hook up a MIDI controller / Keyboard is through a MIDI interface? I find it hard to believe that the M-Box2 merely connects the midi controller / kb to my computer with no effects.. unless I misinterpreted what you guys said, which is very possible haha. I do...

    Pro Tools & Keyboard

Since I'm just getting into this, I was thinking this would be a good place to start? It has a midi controller built-in. Would I need an M-Box in addition to it? Or is it an alternative? If so, would the M-Box give more effects/sounds/control? (basically.. what does the m-box do...

    Pro Tools & Keyboard

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes: I'm purchasing Pro Tools in the near future, and I'm curious what hardware I need. I notice on www.m-audio.com there is a list of compatible hardware, but I don't know which one is suitable for me. I want to be able to...

    Prebuilt Mini³ ?

Thanks guys =). I went to rockhopperaudio.com and it gives me the option of 2 gain or 5 gain. What does that mean exactly?

    Prebuilt Mini³ ?

Hi, I'm looking to buy a prebuilt mini³ but I'm having some trouble =P. After some googling, I gather "MisterX" makes them? How would I go about contacting him? Thanks in advance!

    Ipod headphone jack

Hm, the adapter did not have a wire in between.. that sounds like what caused it. I've been debating between buying a headphone amp or not, and it seems I will be =P. What is this line-out dock? What does it look like? How does it function in relation to the headphone amp? =P Thanks for...

    Ipod headphone jack

I have a 30gb (5th gen?) video ipod. Just tonight I started hearing scratching during higher notes.. and I would periodically lose sound on my right can. If I push down slightly on the headphone plug, or push it gently in a direction, the sound comes back to both speakers but I still hear...

Portable Amp for Ipod + Grado SR-225s

Ooh, I like. How do the peguin amps compare to, let's say this? I absolutely love how thin it is, although the price is a bit more . Btw, sound quality precedes aesthetics.

Portable Amp for Ipod + Grado SR-225s

Topic ^^ No price limit, but I would like it to go well with my black 30gb ipod video and be rather compact. And of course, work great with the grado sound Thanks in advance! p.s. sorry I didn't see the amp section

Best buy for under $200 cans?

Sennheisers have sweet soundstage with decent bass and are great for gaming so you might want to look into their line of models.

    Grados sr225s arrived

And it has a big plug lol. All my sources require small plugs. Before I test this amped, I want to test it alone on my current sources. I presume I need to go pick up an adapter thingy @ radio shack? Or will that reduce quality? Thanks in advance!

I'm new and am purchasing some headphones!

eh, I bit the bullet and purchased some Grado 225s. Everyone's set of ears is different and this will be my first high quality set of cans. So before I spend money on an amp and some IEMs, I'm gonna give these a whirl and see how satisfied I am. Thanks to everyone who helped me make my purchase :P

I'm new and am purchasing some headphones!

I've decided on the Sennheiser HD595s as my at-home headphones. I'm buying them from here. Anyone know if this site is reputable / trustworthy? That leaves me roughly $100 dollars to spend on IEMs. Any suggestions for that price range?

I'm new and am purchasing some headphones!

I was thinking of purchasing one of these for my ipod. I have a black ipod of that model, and it seems to suit it well. What do you guys think? Edit: I have very little knowledge regarding amps, so building one would be out of the question. I don't mind purchasing an amp that goes well with...

I'm new and am purchasing some headphones!

The HD650's seem nice, and right in my price range. However, they appear to be open air. Wouldn't that make them poor for portable use? Edit: Sorry for all the questions, I'm quite new to this kind of thing.
