Why do my livewires sound like garbage when I insert the plug all the way into the jack?
What's odd is that I can still hear sound when they're plugged in, but sounds similar to an out of phase issue. Has to be a simple answer. -
Why do my livewires sound like garbage when I insert the plug all the way into the jack?
Just got a new set of wires for my livewire IEM's, and they sound like garbage now. Definitely a technical issue. However, when I pull the connector from the jack ever so slightly so that it sits there somewhat loosely, it sounds fine. I've tried with multiple sources and have the same problem...- Ernie Mccracken

B&Os new $600 DAP
This thing does not pass the sniff test. Who's going to go to the trouble of designing and building a super high end player, but then alienate 99% of your potential market by crippling it with a paltry 4gb of memory?- Ernie Mccracken

32GB touch and 16GB iphone
$500 / 32gb = $15.625/gb $350 / 160gb = $2.1875/gb I know it's not exactly a fair comparison, but flash is still a hefty premium.- Ernie Mccracken

Why the heck would I buy a flash player instead of HDD?
I'm with the OP. Flash is nice, but storage capacities are still not enough for me. I received a 16gb flash player as a gift and tried to convince myself it was enough. I loved the benefits of flash, but it got really annoying only having 1/10 of my music available. Most times, I don't know...- Ernie Mccracken

Cleaning IEM's? (Gross Pic Included)
I must be the only guy on the internet with ear wax I cleaned 95% of it by carefully using a paper clip. I might give that jodi vac gizmo a shot, but there's surprising little information out there on it. Think it's worth $70?- Ernie Mccracken

Cleaning IEM's? (Gross Pic Included)
So I've had my livewires for awhile and usually wear them 15+ hours/week. Cleaning has become progressively more frustrating as more wax makes its way into the openings. I'm fairly particular, but there's just no avoiding a little wax. How can I clean this out? The included cleaning tool...- Ernie Mccracken

Can we start a club? I got mine today. Clear/clear combo. I believe mine has the resistor built into the cable. I haven't had the chance to test it with a high quality source, but I still have a little hissing with my old school DAP and laptop headphone jack. I think I'll try an in-line...- Ernie Mccracken

Teach Me About In-Line Attenuators
I received my custom IEM's today, and while I find them to be outstanding, I am definitely having hiss issues with my DAP and laptop headphone jacks (no external amp). Several have recommended using an in-line attenuator. I think I understand the general concept of how they work, but am...- Ernie Mccracken

Alright alright. This wasn't intended to debate the uselessness of a video-centric pda with only a tiny pinch of storage space. How hard is it to replace hard drives? That cowon looks awesome. Is there a US release date?- Ernie Mccracken

Alternatives to (pointless) ipod touch?
I thought the announcement was missing a zero (shouldn't capacity be 160gb, not 16gb??), but I guess it's true. I'm going to refrain from ranting too much, but that leaves me without a clear choice. What are some players with specs closer to what the ipod touch should have been? -Decent SQ...- Ernie Mccracken
