A fourth one I'm considering is the K271. One thing that is very important to me is a balanced sound, with good highs mids and lows

I've been looking for a pair of quality closed headphones that i enjoy listening to with my Ipod without an amp. After some research, I've narrowed it down to these three options. So, which do you think is the best value for the price?

Forgive me for my ignorance, but would a pair of Denon D2000's sound good with an Ipod or sound like crap?

One other thing I really need is a well balanced pair. good highs and lows. What pair listed so far has the best balance?

Additionally, how will any of these phones sound on my Ipod?

If I'm riding in a car, I want to be able to block out the music playing on the radio, and people talking. Will the D2000's be able to do that?

What about the ATH-A900's?

I have to get a pair of closed heaphones because I will be listening to music in a very noisy environment, and I don't like in-ear phones. At first I was looking at the AKG 271's, but I've decided that I'm willing to spend a bit more than that. So there's my price range.

Hmmmmm... I'd prefer something a little cheaper, around 200-250

that I can get for under 300 dollars?

Here's a simpler list: -100-300 dollar price range -closed sound -circumaural -balanced (not too high or bassy, but good with both)
