Cool MicroSD Titles
This is a more futuristic media than Himd which is what I had before and would need its own titles for its genre. It needs to suit the music. I've thought of these: Future Disco Mix - future and disco tracks mixed together Sci-fi world mix - tracks from a 'sci-fi world' Fun World...- GCX-15

Quote: Why did that make you laugh? Is there something going on here on the side? Yeah, well I can't really get a girl, all I do is use my imagination from girls I see or make up. I don't mind imagining young boys either that are similar to girls or have sexy girl features. That's just...- GCX-15

Top Tier IEM/Customs and HP Out of ...
Quote: Yes I have. I have neen listening to the sony x recently with WAV files. I would say it's a more mature listening experience for me, not as colourful and dynamic but it seems more toned down and smart like a suit. Still, I have invested in over 200 Himd discs and 2 extra...- GCX-15

What is the best mp3 player in terms of best sound quality in your opinion?
I like the RH1 for mp3's. I remember making an mp3 himd disc and it had a dreamy druggy sound. It felt really good. It does that with all files really but particularly mp3s.- GCX-15

Questions about replacing my ER-4P with the IE7
The IE8's are kind of more mainstream, and the 4P is more clinical and clear. To me the IE8's give a 'brown' good sound and the 4P give a sharp and clear 'hi-level' sound.- GCX-15

Top Tier IEM/Customs and HP Out of ...
All my IEMs go best with my RH1 (or NH1). It's a satisfying and dynamic experience. I suppose because minidisc is similar to CD in that a disc is used which gives a fuller sound. It can be exhilirating at times (for example when I was listening to beatport tracks on sony EX700s, the bass was...- GCX-15

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
I was comparing it with 1G Himd discs which I put 256K files on. Doing the same using WAV files gives roughly 3 Himd discs on a 16G sd card (it's still using 16Gb). And you can use Flac too, I just use the highest uncompressed rate which is WAV.- GCX-15

HD650 Bass Light?
I wasn't that impressed with the HD650 much at first compared with the SA-5000 but after a while I grew to using them more often. The bass on mine are heavier and deep.- GCX-15

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
It sounds like it's come out of 2001: A Space Oddysey which has HAL-9000 in it. Sort of futuristic. It's something I called it because of it's clean white design.- GCX-15

Do other DAPs other than ipods have better components inside?
I sold iPods 3 times and haven't done that with sonys or cowons. The ipods sounded dirty and unbearable. The others sound good. I think the Apple CEOs aren't exactly audiophiles.- GCX-15

Cowon J3 Impressions Thread
Well, I just got mine and it really does sound like a 'HAL-9000' type device. It sounds kind of cartoony with a white kind of texture, not too bassy (compared with the S9 on BBE Headphone 1), and clear, as well as more sparkly on the top end. I like it. It's probably my favourite device to date...- GCX-15

How many DAPs do you have?
3: Kenwood Hd60GD9 - this has vinyl dance music in WAV format Cowon S9 - more vinyl dance music in WAV Sony X 32Gb - this has what I call 'classic futuristic' albums which I bought in the last 10 years from psyshop mostly (WAV) And I'm getting the Cowon J3 next mainly...- GCX-15

What headphones you plan to buy next
I currently have the trifecta, AKG 701, Sennheiser 650, and sony SA5000. I mostly listen to the senns because they are more comfortable and have a nice big sound. (Are these better cause they're made in Ireland?...). The next group of headphones I'm planning to buy are, sennheiser 800, Grado...- GCX-15

Modern CD player that has good sound quality
I think the newer cd players sound better, plus they have G-protection and are more compact/better looking. Don't they use more up-to-date electronic circuitry?- GCX-15

Nicknames for your device.
Do you have one? I call the Cowon D2+ the 'Hallo Spaceboy' mp3 device after the song because it seems like a device for a 'spaceboy'. And I call the new Cowon J3 the 'HAL-9000' mp3 player because of the clean white design on it's back. I can't wait to get the 'HAL-9000 mp3 player' and compile...- GCX-15

BBE headphone setting for D2+?
Does the Cowon D2+ have the 'BBE Headphone' setting that appears on the S9? If not is there a way to get the equaliser to match it? This setting sounds like super audio cd to me even though I've never heard SACD (it sounds better than WAV)...- GCX-15

I love minidisc - is that weird?
I've been listening to my sony x again and it doesn't sound all that bad. It sounds more streamlined and stereo and I definitely like the WAV advantage. I guess newer devices typically sound better. I love minidisc - is that weird?
I've been listening to my minidisc player and I was right. I think the sound is better compared to my sony x even though that's got wav files. It sounds more colourful and smooth/clean. Maybe it's because of the 'magneto...' technology of the himd discs (the way music is stored there) or the HD...- GCX-15
